Bread order by happypat

Bread order

A packed shop in Pebbys this morning as people picked up their orders for bread & cakes. Queuing out of the door as usual...sometimes you can just hit it right but no luck this morning, about twelve people in front of me but all very good natured & lots of chat going on.
Here are Gill & Linda serving ....Lindas daughter cuts my hair & Gills daughter washes it....all family together!!

I really regretted not taking my camera last night as the Haggis was piped in!

I am struggling with ideas at the moment & just hanging on until I go away....will be glad of a months break & new places to see.
Seems to be more of a chore than enjoyment but do want to continue so onwards I go!

Three good things:
1. Warm bread rolls with a thick layer of butter.
2. Another conversation with bad telephone company who want to charge us cancellation fee...they seem to be trying to find a way out so they look to be doing the right thing without losing face....we shall decide over the w/e whether to call their bluff, but progress!!
3. Harry has had a little cooking lesson how to make a casserole to put in the Aga.
Your shots certainly don't give the feeling that they are chores, they are always interesting and fun and I really look forward to seeing them! Like this one, radiating friendliness.

Good shot, sometime Pat looking at the Tag list helps me for inspiration.

Your shot tells a story!

Lovely natural shot, and nice to hear about a local shop with lots of people to serve.

I do love a decent bakers - this looks really buzzy
January 25th, 2014
Are you expecting snow? That usually brings out the crowds
January 25th, 2014
A proper shop. Great to see!

Such a neighborly feel
January 25th, 2014
Such cheerful staff, I love a good bread shop. Sadly the containers in Christchurch won't stay, they already have plans to move them.
January 25th, 2014
@busylady why do you mention containers Judith? Just interested as we have a vested interest in containers!

Pat- this is a great way to see what happens over there! They wear hats to serve cakes and breads? Or was this a special day? Sometimes I feel its too much time taken on this site but then I relax and say, I'm finding out what my friends are doing all over the world! Funny, I just taught John a dish to make the other night and I have never done that before!

Super shot Pat - you have captured the friendly local baer's shop so nicely --n I can smell the bread --lovely
January 25th, 2014
@busylady Yes I believe so I saw a comment on your post...shame really1
January 25th, 2014
@maggiemae Yes they wear these hats all the time Maggiemae.....I do love seeing other peoples lives too & I just think it's very time consuming sometimes, I do & try to comment on lots of photos but the more followers you get the harder it is....I have neglected my new followers disgracefully but just a lack of time. One of the things is too that it's cold in the office...I have a heater but not very warm at the moment in mid winter. I won't give up but will not be posting when I am away in NZ.

I love the atmosphere in this shot and I wish we had a bread shop that was so good that people queued! I haven't taken 'proper' shots for ages (especially as I'm not walking Mont) but I feel quite relaxed and I'm enjoying the project more. Is Harry staying at home then?
January 25th, 2014
Great shot
January 25th, 2014
happy shoppers and shopkeepers at Pebbys ...nice POV Pat, be careful of that big bloomer in the bottom left corner :)
January 25th, 2014
@judithg Yes Harry staying at home this time. He only generally comes with me every alternate year but almost decided to come this time ...I think the dog & cat minding bit gets to him...a bit of a worry & cost of leaving them.

Nothing like fresh baked goods
January 26th, 2014
I love going in our bakery, the smell is fantastic. Fancy having to queue though. I remember queuing in the UK!!! Don't miss that at all.
January 26th, 2014
Remember what is mundane to you is interesting to us that don't live in the same town, country or even hemisphere!! Great shot - love the pov
January 26th, 2014
I love the feel of a bakery, maybe my love of bread and cakes! This is a super shot, it is difficult to find inspiration sometimes, where are you off to?
January 26th, 2014
A delightful shot, Pat! Pebbys looks like the place to be. I know what you mean about lacking inspiration...I was reduced to photographing ski mittens and a hat yesterday. When do you leave for NZ?
January 26th, 2014
@peggysirk 12th February until the 15th March Peggy....I will be absent with leave!!! think you do get ready for a break. I have tried in the past to keep posting but internet & family life priorities are more important so now I just say no posting while I am away...I vow not to take as many photos either this time as I only ever use a few.
January 26th, 2014
@lucypics NZ Lucy ...see above to my answer to Peggy. Two sons & families over there so go every year around this time....lucky me !!
January 26th, 2014
I totally agree with you, Pat. I would spend every moment focused on those precious grandsons and the rest of your wonderful NZ family. 365 will be here when you get back.
January 26th, 2014
I love to see local shops like this ...... not something you see as much now. Fab shot :)
January 26th, 2014
Even if you feel you are struggling, Pat, you always post an interesting shot. This one is great and you do seem to live in such a sociable community. Cassserole in the oven is the best sort of cooking lesson, I think!
January 26th, 2014
Nice shot. We haven't got a local bakers so my hubby makes our bread.
January 26th, 2014
I enjoy seeing your shots of life in your village. Everyone seems so friendly and there is always such a lovely warm feel.
January 26th, 2014
You can not beat a good bakery; with you all the way with point 1 yum!
January 26th, 2014
Great shot Pat. I love your shots letting us all participate in your daily life. Great pov. I feel the dame about taking photos at the moment, but so glad I still do and able to see yours as well. Get some inspiration in NZ and enjoy the time with your family and by then winter is over here as well
January 26th, 2014
