Dry dock for these mixture of rusty old tubs & slightly smarter vessels but the Riviera it is not!!
Wardles Creek towards the mouth of the River Wyre in Hambleton is the home for all these boats.
I imagine when the tide is high they sometimes float but I have never seen them any different to this.
A few old guys are usually there smoking, drinking tea & chatting & you can hear a few bangs of hammers now & again but I don't think much gets done...a bit of a graveyard really.
Three good things:
1. I got the last smaller trolley in the trolley bay today at the supermarket.
2. Lots of potholes filled on the main road.
3. A free newspaper with my shopping courtesy of my Booths card...you can have a free coffee too.
@happypat If I'm in here early (before 8.30) I have a free coffee and make my shopping list - checking the Waitrose magazine for some new recipes. It's very civilised! But not today - did well not to lose my rag with people being too dithery!
I didn't bother signing up for the My Waitrose card - can't see the point of having to stand up and drink a coffee and we don't read the Telegraph or the Mail which are the only free papers of offer! Like your shot very much, sounds like a typical man place - lots of standing around not getting much done!
Your little Olympus Pen takes cracking pics Pat. I've been admiring the clarity and sharpness in the images you post with it. Love all the mud in this picture. You seem very close to it
@judithg@happypat the free Waitrose Coffee is very civilised, we have to drive 20 miles to Newark to get ours, although we have a little Waitrose in Nottingham City Centre (bit like a Tesco Express) but they give them in cardboard cups as opposed to a proper cup in the Newark store
Hi Pat, wow it feels like I have not viewed your album for ages!! Hong Kong is keeping me very busy!! This is great, I love the detail of the soil in the foreground.
@phil_howcroft we have the first Waitrose in our area just on the southern edges of Preston in Walton le dale...straying into Booths territory! They are very similar.
@onewing booths is a local shop & all branches ere in the North West of England Babs. I think there are around 30 shops in all ...lost count now but they are very family orientated & sell a lot of local produce.
I don't think these boats ever go in the water, they always look like this!!
@leananiemand you are so busy....no worries about commenting I love looking at your travels! Thank you for looking. If I was only younger I would love to do what you are doing!
I miss Booths

I have never heard of Booths. Heard of Waitrose, Sainsbury's, Tesco and Safeway though. Maybe Booths was after I left the UK

Last small trolley is good for me too. Had we been there at the same time we would have had to negociate!!!
Fabulous capture! :)
