Refreshment time. by happypat

Refreshment time.

The village shop in Scorton all dolled up for the festival weekend, I liked the different reds in this photo.

I went to Lancaster last night with Cathy, we had a very nice evening eating supper at Bella Italia & later in a small bar in town while we waited for Lydia & friends.
I was so cross with myself, it's so long since I was in a town at night I had forgotten how many photo ops there were - I didn't take my camera!

Three good things:
1. The smell of Lilacs.
2. Enjoying the World Champion Snooker Championship in our house.
3. The cutting round the B&B sign worked last night, a couple from NZ in last night when I came back from Lancaster. Luckily Harry stayed at home nursing his cold so was there to greet them!
Beautiful picture of shop! Very beautiful combination of colors! I like it very much!
My friendly greetings from Russia!

Beautiful cheery scene - would like to take this with my X20 selective colour function!! Glad you have guests!

Ha ha ! this time I will not ask -- I can see that the delivery boy and shopkeeper are dummies -- the scene reminds me ot "Qpen all hours " with David Jason and Ronnie Barker !!!!!! Lovely well kept property and as you say many shades of red . Glad you had a nice night out bah for forgetting the camera !!

Charming street shot.

I like the contrasting cyclists and the Spar sign holding it all together.

This makes me smile. Who is 'real'? Charming village feel to it too.

Awesome capture, love seeing your village shots.

This is so interesting! I always thought Spar was a South African group but now I see you have one! I must say that yours looks far more inviting than any of ours that I've seen!

Love the overall composition you captured the right momnt with the cyclist arriving, at first I thought the two figures were people as well

A lovely quirky capture - and thanks for sharing my NZ photos. We're in the middle of trying to put together one of these online photo albums - not easy with over 4,000 pictures to choose from! Peter is keen to come up and stay sometime soon - maybe in June?
May 5th, 2014
@busylady lovely Judith would look forward to that! June is fine except the 28th possibly when the London meet up is on.....if possible I would like to go to that although train tickets get dearer & dearer!

I daresay those faces must be known to some! Funny positioning, - they look as if they have stiff necks! It must be still light when you were at dinner in Lancaster? You could get a shot of the castle sometime?
May 5th, 2014
another cracking shot Pat, I agree with 3GT1, getting lots of wiffs of them while walking ruby
May 5th, 2014
@maggiemae they have rather long necks don't they maggiemae.....it was light to start with & I do love taking the camera to Lancaster...I have photographed the castle a few times over the last three years at various points & it's always a favourite place. The people in the town last night were the most interesting...I don't know about NZ at night but the young today wear such weird clothes.....not much on at night time!!

Love the reds here Pat

I had to look twice at this before I noticed the not-real people on the left. (I thought they looked a little stiff.)

I bet it will be quite refreshing, and Pat, as a member of 365, I am so surprised that you have not learned that one hard lesson. Never leave home without your camera.

Love this - the 'real' cyclist balances the other two - and the reds do look lovely.
May 6th, 2014
@digitalrn very true Rick & I should have known better!!
May 6th, 2014
Yes I agree, iPad goes everywhere with me now
Love the reds😊

Such a colorful and fun composition! Love your three good things...were you expecting the couple from NZ, or were they drop-ins?
May 6th, 2014
@peggysirk drop ins Peggy.....the sign at th end of the road is in full view thanks to Harry's mowing!
May 6th, 2014
Brilliant shot. So much to see. Love the old and the new on the bicycle scene.
May 6th, 2014
Hahaa - Open All Hours!! Love that you have to look twice to see who's real. Interesting having NZ's in as well.

Incidentally we have shops of the same company in Russia! http://www.panoramio.com/photo/80623525
