Bounty

I have been picking blackberries......even though I have not used last years yet I couldn't for shame leave them unpicked. What a hot scratchy business it is too.
Nettles & burrs are two of the more uncomfortable things to put up with but it is very satisfying to fill the tin up.

I am woefully behind commenting & will be for the next couple of nights as we are out for the next two evenings. No need to comment on mine though just filling my slots. I will try to do a bit tomorrow!!

Three good things:
1. Taking Cathy the blackberries tonight.
2. A family meal with both sets of grandparents to wish Jack good luck as he sets off for Uni on Sunday.
3. I have starved myself all day in preparation for some lovely food! All this eating out is no good for the figure!!
This is something that I've never done, and I had no idea it was a scratchy business. I love learning things like this through 365.

@cejaanderson Nettled, scratched, hot & covered is stains...the perils of blackberrying Jane!

Yummy -I do love blackberries -raw from the bush ( avoiding any maggots ) pies , crumbles . summer/ autumn puddings , but to name few !! Beautiful capture --" with the corn as high as an elephant eye "-- I'll be humming Oklahoma for the rest of the night now !! Enjoy the family meals and good luck to Jack !!

I make pie, jam and ice-cream and freeze them too, but they make me feel so rich and indulgent. I love the way my ear and house smell now.

You have been a busy girl - childhood memories for me, but no plants left nearby anymore - good luck to Jack.

Nothing like a blackberry and apple pie plus cream of course. Bet you make a good one.

Emmmm Blackberry pie... conjures up the same memories as Dianne probably picked them together.. Exciting times for Jack to be going on to the next stage of his life...

Shamefully I've neglected to pick any this year, I have to pluck up courage to brave the thorns and stained black fingers. Tomorrow maybe. Lovely familiar shot

That's a nice dinner to be going to - can't pin our kids down to a time to all go out before Rachel goes back (just before Adam's birthday) - but frustrated!

@judithg was lovely Judith but poor Lydia was in a tent somewhere eating packet food! What a lot of stuff uni students need...I was amazed!

A very autumnal shot

I am sure it is worth it in the end

@happypat when Rachel went you absolutely had to have a onesie - think they may be out of fashion now but I'm not really the one to ask! My sister is apparently taking electric blankets to my nephew's new non-uni accommodation for 2nd year - trying to dry out the bed. I imagine she's having flashbacks to her husband's flat that gave him bronchitis that he's still plagued with in the winter. Still it's all good fun!!!

Yep - a bumper year for berries - a very nice rural shot

@judithg jack has his onesie Judith so must stil be in fashion!! I haven't spoken to Cathy yet but apparently the uni has all new accommodation in his little village so they had high hopes it would be spot on....certainly looked lovely in the pictures & they hav an award for top student accommodation. Makes it much easier to leave them when all looks nice & comfortable! I expect RChel has moved into a house with friends now....seems to be the thing! You will miss her terribly when she goes back! I am looking forward to visiting Sheffield for the first time in the future! Since Jack uploaded my iPad with a new version it's being a bit awkward......usually I have him there to put me right ...I feel abandoned LOL ,

@judithg I think non uni might be a bit more basic....all that to come but good to start off well.....electric blanket is a must I would think!!

Yes - sounds like lovely accommodation - better that Rachel's Birmingham version - we could have upgraded to posher but what she had cost enough! The problem with non-uni is that they don't put the heating on (amongst other things) - not surprising it's damp.
