We used to have hens and at moulting, they would lay NO eggs! Sometimes for weeks. After a couple of seasons like that, I decided it was easier to buy eggs from the farm down the road! The hens went somewhere else where I'm not going to tell you . Harry busy mowing and making the field look like a cricket pitch!
@maggiemae all you say is so true maggiemae......much easier to buy eggs & probably cheaper but I love hens, they are so friendly & it's somewhere to throw the scraps. Yes another cricket pitch!
He looks like a very happy chap. Love how the chickens are keeping an eye on the proceedings. You can send him round to our place when he has finished, I hate mowing. I'll give him a cup of tea and a piece of cake.
