We went up the Shard last Thursday, it was a little hazy but the views were excellent. I was reliably informed that the tall structure in the middle is the Elepahant & Castle area.
Another one that reminds me of Armageddon.
Three good things:
1. Just occurred to me today watching bees flying what small wings they have compared to the size of their bodies....wonder they ever get airborne.
2. I have painted my cookbook shelf this afternoon.....so many books that I buy & hardly ever read......I have had a cull!
3. Harry said his knee was slightly better this morning! He has gone bowling.
Fantastic capture.. love the God Beams... Back to your painting again .. good for you.. I know what you say about all the cookbooks... George even offered to buy me one in the bookshop yesterday and I turned him down... must have a cull so that I can get some new one's..
This is amazing. Really love this shot. I was just reading your profile and you mention how much you have learned on this project in 4 years. I was wondering, what aspect of this project has allowed you to learn the most? Is the the discussions? Or just seeing other's photos? Or the challenges? I want to maximize my potential to learn, and just thought I would ask.
Love this image.
What a fabulous shot Pat, I went up for my Birthday in March to watch the sun set but sadly the fog/smog/mist pretty much ruined the view but the champagne made up for it!! Fav
@adambralston Hi Adam, thanks for taking interest in my project. When I look at my very first photos I can't believe how basic they are. When I started I knew nothing at all about photography & all I did was aim at the subject & shoot. Now I know to compose the photo properly if possible using the thirds principle.....I look at everything with new eyes & see photo opportunities in the most surprising things but I think I have learnt the most by looking at other peoples projects & the way they take their pictures. I have learned about the world around us from the different countries featured here & also from the discussions on the home page. There are so many tips from others & any one will answer any question you ask... I have gone from a P&S to DSLR & now to a compact system camera. I think your photos are great & you are doing well with your 365 year. I use my project as a daily diary....some photos are rubbish & others better but I post anyway!! Good luck!
I am getting so bad at doing personal thank yous but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate each one so thnks for your faves & lovely comments.
I really admire all you dedicated folk who manage to do personal thank you'd, I like them myself but never seem to catch up these days!
I like what you say to Adam - I would say exactly the same! @adambralston Its not always about getting on PP ( as this one probably is!) but about seeing what happens every day! fav
@maggiemae I agree maggiemae......it's also mostly about the people for me too Adam...I have to know something about the person for me to follow them to get that connection....meet ups are great fun there is one in London on the 15th November. @adambralston
Oh my word Pat!! This is fantastic! Fav for me - should be TT! I'm with you on the cook books. I'm going to paint the bookshelves in my office area - they are totally crammed with books, pictures, baby drawings and work stuff - not really looking forward to it - charity shop here I come I think!
@jo13 It does depend so much on the day Jo doesn't it...was quite hazy & to be honest I preffered the Eye but all in all it was a great experience. Was worried that I would feel dizzy with the height but needn't have worried! Might see you at the meet up ?
wow!!! What a view of London. What books did you cull? I hoard cook books. Does that surprise you? I love old cook books perhaps one day I'll pick up in a second hand bookshop one you culled!!
Fantastic shot, love it, What a beautiful view and I just love the suns rays. An excellent choice for b&w I am a big fan of b&w and once you take out the colour you see so much more detail. got to be a fav.
i don't know what to say Pat, apart from this is why we love photography, when we can produce beautiful shots like this that 'connect' with other people . FAVE FAVE FAVE
