Caught! by happypat

Caught!

Two apples caught in the hedge caught my eye this afternoon as I walked down the lane to find a suitable subject to photograph.

A lovely sunny warm afternoon....when is this cold spell they have forecast arriving?

Harry has had a lovely game of bowls in Stanley Park with tea & a tea cake afterwards in the cafe.
I wish I had been there as there was a tea dance on...sold out I believe!
I have just asked him how old they were & he said 'oh older than us, some were on Zimmer frames!'

Three good things:
1. There is still something to look forward to in our old age...tea dances!
2. I have had a massive clean out in the kitchen all under the cupboards & behind the furniture.
3. Fab night on TV tonight.....The Great Interior Design Challenge, Masterchef & then The Missing.
I'm loving the idea of elderly people waltzing around with their zimmer frames. I'm also looking forward to the Great Interior Design Challenge and the Missing.

@dh I did laugh when he told me...the mind boggles but good for them I say! There were some doing the quickstep so not all on frames! You have to keep on the ball with The Missing......it keeps you glued!

well spotted. I'm off to Camera Club tonight so I haven't been watching the Missing but I believe it is very good.

Well spotted and captured Pat. Looking forward to Masterchef. Always amazes me how much they can do in limited time great multi taskers.

I know that in rest homes I have visited there is generally a tea dance that the residents are looking forward to! The sort of dancing is not what our young people would know how to do or even want to do!

Well done you - always good to have a clear out! I love the contrast of the apples against the branches. It's amazing what you find close by.

Well spotted - this is a lovely depiction of the season.

Lovely coloured apples against those stark branches. Good find. Was he actually playing outside in the park? Or is this just the name of an indoor venue. We are playing indoors at a big local rink now. Must be the time of year, I've been cleaning out too!

Well spotted Pat ! -- food for the birds when it gets really cold

They look trapped! Nice shot!

@jennywren they have closed all the local greens that they play on all summer Jen but they have dis overed that there are six greens on Stsnley Park in Blackpool that are open all year round. If it's a nice day they go mostly on a Tuesday & have a game then into the cafe for a bit of light refreshment.. The weather has been great so far this Autumn so it's been ok for playing. Perhaps won't last much longer though. There is an indoor place too but Harry doesn't like that...too hot & claustrophobic.

@happypat Amazed that they are still ok to play on but how nice to still do so on a good day. Our indoor rink is really big, a large seating area and bar and shop attached, also air conditioned so it's quite pleasant in there.

@phil_howcroft I have never been on Stanley Park Phil but Harry says it's lovely .......he comes back full of it having enjoyed his afternoon. I am not allowed to go...I talk too much & it's his own little thing! Apparently the cafe is fantastic too!

@happypat ahh far from it for a wife to interrupt a man and his game of bowls :-)
Crown green i assume
November 19th, 2014
@phil_howcroft Yes Crown Green Phil. He is not an expert & they only play socially but he really enjoys it & I enjoy him going off to do something he likes. When I played & he was working he always said it was an old mans game...he is one now apparently!
