We have had a fabulous day in the Potteries today.
Spent far too much money but who could resist all that lovely pottery?
We went to Emma Bridgewater & then on to Burleigh Pottery & then back to Emma for the tree lighting, mulled wine & mince pies.
I bought some Christmas presents & some of the Joy range for myself.
Back to our house for bacon butties.
A really enjoyable day.
Just posting this photo of the lighting of the tree & I will catch up commenting tomorrow.
Three good things:
1. A very Christmassy day....
2. Treats.
3. A talk to our NZ granddaughter last night....looking forward to her visit in December.
I'll have to google Emma to see the range of pottery she has. What a great event with a super tree! I expect you were invited guests. It was obviously not very far from your home!
It sounds like a gorgeous day out Pat and this is a beautiful composed photo of the lighting of the tree -- all the lights excites and delights me ! A fav
@maggiemae it was eighty miles round trip maggiemae ....a Christmas Fair with stalls & all the bits of Chrustmas. They have a seconds shop & a gift shop....I love her range especially the Joy collection at this time of the year.
Looking Christmassy. Ours going up next Sunday. It's sammys favourite part of Christmas decorating the house and having the tree. We're away the following weekend so Sunday the boxes will come down and our house will turn into a winter wonderland. I can't wait either!!
Fav!! Looks absolutely lovely. I was looking back to last December to find photos for the calendar and read that Nigel and I bought Christmas plates last year (£2 per plate in John Lewis sale - I hope we bought 8!) which I had completely forgotten. So now I'm wondering if I can run to an Emma Bridgewater Christmas plate for my mince pies this year! Bet they don't have those in the sale... My sister is a big fan - she'd love this event!
@judithg they had lots of mince pie plates in the seconds department Judith but strange, ybtheybwerent as nice as the ones in the main shop at full price....Sod's law! I love their Christmas stuff.....bought some stuff which I might put up for a photo soon. Cathy wanted to come with us as she loves EN but I soentbher birthday money for her on her instruction! The cafe had a full size spotty Aga & delicious eats. Harry & I had brown toast & jam with our morning coffee ,.....was so good!
