Market day in Garstang so the fish van was in its usual place on the High Street.
It seems to do a roaring trade but I never buy my fish from there, but I prefer to buy it from the usual shops that are there all the time. Hake was half price at Booths today so I always get double the quantity and freeze half.
We have a very nice little fish shop on the High Street too.
You might be able to see on the black sign post that it says first Fairtrade town... it's the first one in the world apparently!
Three good things:
1. Flannelette sheets on the twin beds.
2. Top room all ready for Alex coming on the 9th.
3. Pretty much finished my NZ shopping.
I like the way the light shines on the stall. I confess we buy fish for the freezer from the supermarket. Ray came home with whole trout, mackerel, sea bream and sea bass.
Good to see a fish stall - seems to have light on inside the caravan which enhances the picture! What is a fair-trade town? Would there be an unfair trade?
@maggiemae a Fairtrade town is were lots of the shops choose to buy Fairtrade stuff to sell.......meaning that they promise to give the supplier a fair & honest price for the goods they have produced. You can buy Fairtrade coffee & tea etc. usuall from third world countries that are very reliant on their products to make a fair living.
Flannelette sheets. My kids have them on their bed. Reminds me of my childhood. When I put littlest down for a nap at lunch times it's sooooooo snuggly somedays I don't get out either and curl up with him for a nap!!! Love a flannelette sheet.
I bet Alex is excited! There is a very popular fish van I often see on the way to the park but I never know when it's supposed to come. When Adam goes off to uni (if!) we'll be eating a lot more fish!
Great capture. I so nearly posted a picture of our market fish stall that I took yesterday but I wasn't happy with it so changed my mind. We have no choice here the two fresh fish shops we had in town have now closed so it's our market stall or the supermarkets.
