I have been decorating all afternoon so another filler today I'm afraid. This is one of the cows from Sizergh Barn waiting to be milked, they were very tame & obviously used to having folk looking over the door at them.
Happy Mothers Day everyone!
Three good things:
1. I went to a Mothers Day service at daughter Cathys church this morning...we all got a lovely primula pot plant. I must say the singing & fellowship in that small church were she got married is just tremendous.
2. I was pleased to see that the very sweet & rather delightful book I am reading is number 3 on the charts this week. Elizabeth is Missing is about an old lady who sufferes from dementia as told through her eyes.
3. Half way done with the decorating & all furniture back in place till Thursday. My Wanderers walk tomorrow if I have the energy that is!!
That great big nose is twitching, I know! Perhaps people feed them apples? Do cows eat apples? Re that book - more about dementia - have yet to see, "Still Alice"
Thank you all...I am lagging behind tonight as I have had a shower after my painting, been on Skype for a good while, printed off travel insurance & show tickets for NY next week & now Poldark is on so I am going to watch that ! Will comment afterwards...I can't miss it!
Lovely expression. Hope the decorating is going well. You're making me feel guilty I must do our small bedroom. Trouble is it get used as a store room and needs a lot of sorting out before I can get to the walls!
I ♥ cows. Sounds like a very full weekend for you, Pat!
The book you're reading sounds very similar to "Still Alice"...a very moving story of a college professor suffering from Alzheimer's.
fabulous Fav i just love cows. It reminds me of childhood holidays on the dairy farm where my granddad worked in Jersey. The farmer used to let us help milk the cows and I got to carry thre jug to Grannys house which with the two pints of milk which was part of his wages. granny would boil the milk and there was always a saucer of yellow cream which she scooped off the top in her pantry
Cool cow! I've just been checking out that book on Amazon as I'm needing something to read.
Have you read 'Where Memories Go' by Sally Magnusson. It's her story about caring for her mum who had dementia and I found it really interesting when Dad began losing some of his memory.
Thankfully he has medication which has made a huge difference ....for all of us!
@sarah19 No I haven't but I remember Sallie Magnusson & her father well of course.....would be interesting to read...as soon as the memory goes a bit we all wonder if it's the dreaded dementia!
