I sat up until 5am this morning watching the general election results & no matter who you supported history was made last night. A complete change in the political story in Scotland, will be interesting seeing how parliament will tackle a mass influx of new SNP politicians, one as young as 20 years old.
It was quite moving to see some of the old MPs who had represented a seat for as much as twenty or thirty years replaced by young whipper snappers!
A gardener at work in Stanley Park.
Three good things:
1. We went to see Far from the Maddening Crowd, I enjoyed it.
2. I only closed my eyes briefly during the picture!
3. A chat to Jack in the wee small hours on Face Time, the Labour candidate running against Nick Clegg in Sheffield Hallam had been in their kitchen yesterday evening.
@pinkpaintpot I am thrilled with the result too Linda but didn't like to say.......what the heck we all have our views! It was the economy that did me......small businesses need stability .
@busylady Sorry younare not happy Judith.......let's hope they all pull together to keep this country great....won't be an easy ride! I had to get up at 6.40 am but went back to bed at 8.45 & up again at 10.15....the bed didn't have time to get cold!
Lovely 'green' shot, Pat. I'd never stay up to watch election results, I confess. I suppose it could be mildly interesting, if one was bothered, to make a note of what 'they' all promised before the election and what 'they' did when in power.......
I suppose as we get older, we take more interest in things that are going on - no children to worry about etc. I get enthused with elections too. These new SNP's are all going to be paid a huge wage too - the tax payer has to realise! Love this little curving pathway in the Park and the bendy gardener!
Politics! One thing photography has done for me is distract me from the goings on over on this side of pond. Not that I don't follow it, but my facebook friends I think are happy to see my photos as opposed to my "rants"..hahah! This is such a lovely shot. It would be lovely without the gardner, but soooo much better with him in it.
I went to bed Pat but I did get up at 3.30 to watch and it was amazing. Whoever you voted for it was the most exciting and interesting election I've ever watched. I had to drag myself away to take the dogs for their 6.30 walk! I'm very happy with the result but sad to see so many of the older MP's who have served the country for so long loosing their seats.
nice little pathway and little curve in it
