Tram lines by happypat

Tram lines

This is the scene I walked down the lane to see yesterday evening.....I just caught sight of the cows up to the barley field & the fantastic tram lines, so straight.

Why are there always electricity wires spoiling photos......a more expert person than I am would clone them out!

Flat out today changing beds & then I got distracted & cleaned & tidied the linen room chucking out old stuff as I went. I started off looking for the cot sheets & blankets but got carried away...it needed doing badly so a good job done!
In between all that we had to sort the lambs out as they kept escaping into the maize field. They were squeezing under some rails & charging up & down but one of them forgot how to get back.....mummy & lamb were both making such a noise.
Me & five neighbours managed to get it through the gate & Harry put some netting along the bottom of the fence.

Three good things:
1. Cooperating neighbours.
2. No B&B in tonight!
3. My sister in law brought us some baby new potatoes she has grown & dug up this morning.....sausages & new potatoes with butter tonight! Yummy!
Super shot.

Lovely shot with all it takes for a rural scenery

Great photo and a great start to the week getting all that done!!
Enjoy the new potatoes for tea!

I like the horizontal lines juxtaposed with the vertical. But you have a linen ROOM? How jealous am I?! I need a good throw out but I also want a new bigger bed so I don't want to invest in new for the old size.

Butter and fresh new potatoes!!! Deliciousness beyond compare. We're still waiting for our potatoes to be ready. The only thing we have grown this year, the boys new climbing frame has been built over the old veg patch, but we miss our veg so we're reclaiming part of our land that isn't fenced in at present and are going to build some raised beds and get growing again. Enjoy your potatoes!! And cold they make such delicious potatoe salad.... I fear my cheese on toast tea hasn't filled my tummy I am just salivating at the thought of potatoes.......

@judithg im jealous too! I loved my airing cupboard but it doesn't "air" now we have a combo boiler, 4 years on and I still miss it.
May 24th, 2015
@newbank Our tank is in the loft so we don't 'air' either - I'd like a pantry as well...!!
May 24th, 2015
@judithg me too. My mum has one. I have a silly pull out cupboard thing. And a cupboard under the stairs big enough to house my Hoover and ironing board. The things we women dream off!
May 24th, 2015
A lovely rural capture Pat , my goodness you have had a busy but what a reward Sausages and new baby potatoes with butter makes me drool !!
May 24th, 2015
@judithg Well I did dither about putting linen room but I can't call it a cupboard as I can walk in easily but it is quite small. I couldn't do without it for all my numerous sheets & pillows. Probably six foot by eight foot.
May 24th, 2015
@newbank Well I am not a big potato eater normally but these were delicious & we ate the lot! We have raised beds for our veg & they work really well. Our potatoes are a good few weeks off too. I would like a bigger airing cupboard as I have to make sure the sheets are aired before I put them away. I have all the towels in my small airing cupboard which does have a warm cylinder. Now the thing I liked best was the airing rack I had in my old kitchen at the other farm but my ceiling is too low here.
A proper pantry is my dream! @judithg

Wonderful view

Now you'll be the person to answer a question that has worried us ever since we visited Europe. What makes the tram lines and why?
May 24th, 2015
@ubobohobo ha ha Margaret...the lines are made by tractor wheels when they use the sprayer. The tractor goes along slowly & the boom of the sprayer reaches out to the sides, that's why the tram lines are so far apart.

Wonderful lines in this landscape, Pat. And I think the power lines just add a few more above and add a horizontal interest.
Marvelous lamb rescue! So good to have helpful neighbors!
Your fresh from the garden new potatoes and sausage dinner sounds delicious!!!

So pastoral and restful, what a lovely scene. Love the sound of your dinner tonight!

I love seeing those temporary farm roads too in fields! So straight! I don't have an airing cupboard - my dryer does that - no clothes line! House is very energy efficient so doesn't cost us. Sausages and new potatoes - yum yum! Peas too is my favourite!
May 24th, 2015
@maggiemae We had peas too maggiemae!
May 24th, 2015
@peggysirk thanks Peggy.....glad you think the power lines don't distract....I did try rubbing them out but it was a blotchy mess!
May 24th, 2015
I have some linen that needs sorting if you have any spare time. I don't have a linen room - but I do have a pond.
May 24th, 2015
@busylady Supper was delicious Judith....you will know all about home grown spuds.....I expect yours are further on than ours. These have been grown in a cloche.

@gijsje @helly31 @thresheg @khirsch
@sarah19
@beryl

Thank you all, for your lovely comments......I have had a lovely evening meal & had a lazy night with no escaping lambs....all quiet on the Western Front!
May 24th, 2015
Great lines in this nicely composed landscape. I actually like the way the parallels of the power lines intersect the sky at rightangles to your barley lines - they are a plus for me, but then ... what do I know.
May 24th, 2015
Wonderful country scene Pat, you had blue skies? We are back to grey oppression!
May 24th, 2015
I ask the same question about the overhead lines every time I go out and about!!! Didn't they consider us photographers!????
Fabulous landscape nonetheless!
May 24th, 2015
I think the electricity wires add to this shot, just lines going the opposite way.

I miss my airing cupboard too. Out here our hot water tank is outside and the linen cupboard has just that in it, no tank underneath to air the bedding. etc.
May 25th, 2015
A great pastoral scene...and love those lines in the fields.
May 25th, 2015
I think Babs is right...the lines are just part of the rural scene...
May 25th, 2015
Lovely country shot
May 25th, 2015
It takes forever to do cloning and much practice is needed for it to be right. Much better to get the shots. Always love these lines in the fields, bonus cows too, lovely scene. New spuds out of the ground, can't beat it.
May 25th, 2015
What a lovely scene!
May 25th, 2015
Great spotting - a lovely rural scene.
May 25th, 2015
@dh Ah, but have you a pantry?
May 25th, 2015
@onewing Mine has no heat in it either Babs so have to make sure they are aired before I put them on the shelves!
May 25th, 2015
No. I would rather have a pantry than a linen room, but unfortunately I don't have either.
May 25th, 2015
I do believe I could make myself home there Pat
May 25th, 2015
Great landscape capture,love it.
May 25th, 2015
@dh I would love a pantry!! ( instead of a linen room!)
