A visit to Lydia's chosen uni today to fill in the form for her DBS check.
Apparently it says on the prospectus book it is the greenest University in Britain as in having its own bore holes for water & generating its own electricity. As you can see it's very modern.
A group of nurses having lunch.
Afterwards we caught the bus into central Manchester to buy stuff for her holiday in NZ ....a good day but a nightmare journey home for Cathy driving! So much traffic!
Three good things:
1. A lovely day with Cathy & Lydia.
2. Andy Murray won his tennis match.
3. I used my iPhone for this photo, so much handier in busy places when you haven't time to stop much.
This looks more like a fancy hotel than a university! That sort of heating is called geothermal and we considered it for our house but didn't have the money! I suppose there wasn't much winter stuff in the shops to buy for NZ? I found it almost impossible to buy a swimsuit in the middle of winter!
@maggiemae you're right maggiemae....we had trouble finding long sleeved Tee shirts to layer at first but got about five different colours in Primark for £2.50 each! She bought a long dress & loose jacket in Fat Face sale ....not really for the holiday but it looked fab on!
Fabulous shot and love the perspective, so much to look at in this photo.
I remember horrendous Manchester traffic from 25 years ago so God knows what it must be like now.
Very sleek and modern. Wishing Lydia a successful (and fun) college career...and a wonderful trip to NZ before classes get underway!
Well done to Andy. A tough match to come in the semifinals, but he seems focused and up to the task.
Wow what a fab setting for learning! Hope everything goes really well for
Lydia and that she has a wonderful holiday in NZ. Especially nice after having all the family over here so recently.
