A good night out. by happypat

A good night out.

The Neil Diamond concert last night was enjoyed by all who attended.
He has plenty of energy still I must say & sang pretty continuously from 8.10 to 10.20pm which wasn't bad for a guy his age I reckon.
I wasn't as keen when I heard from a friend that she had only paid a fifth of our price & a couple next to them who were on holiday in Blackpool had popped into the booking office on chance & got £125 tickets for £20!

The two guys on the left were having a great time!

Three good things:
1. Lydia who has been struck down with gastroenteritis all week in NZ has turned the corner & eaten something. You catch some horrid things on airplanes!
2. Good care for the invalid from Auntie Lesley.
3. A new magazine in the post.
Love the lighting and all those heads! Great shot.

I went to Blackpool on Wednesday for the first time in more than 20 years. Had a wonderful day of photography. Wish we'd known there was a concert the next day. Love Neil Daimond. Great photo of the concert.

A great crowd and a great atmosphere by the looks of things !!! Glad to hear you had a grand night , but doesn't it make you want to spit when others get such a great deal !! -- console yourself it could have been the other way round !!

Great atmospheric shot, lovely rim light on the heads. Loved Neil Diamond and still have old LPs. Glad to hear Lydia recovering.

Looks like a great venue for a concert. I'm certain it was a fun time! When we saw Paul McCartney a few years ago (he was 70 years old at the time), I was amazed at his stamina. He was on stage performing one song after another for 3 hours...never left the stage or took a break. I think he and Neil Diamond are about the same age.
No rhyme or reason for ticket pricing I've come to decide, Pat. For anything from plane tickets to concert tickets, I think it's totally random. ☺
Poor Lydia! I'm so sorry she has been so sick during her NZ visit. But happy to read that she seems to be on the mend!

@beryl Well I was glad we didn't know at the time but I will certainly be a bit more discriminating next time instead of jumping in with both feet!

@jennywren He was rocking still Jen.....all ages there even two game girls on Zimmer frames!
July 24th, 2015
@peggysirk Thank Peggy for your good wishes for Lydia....she has felt a long way away for her mum! You could tell Neil was loving every moment....adrenaline keeps them going I reckon!

July 24th, 2015

@barrowlane @susiemc @ceilidh

I doubt he will be doing another tour at his age, that's why we went but he certainly hasn't 'lost' it his voice was amazing!
July 24th, 2015
Nothing quite like live music! Frustrating about the tickets but.....as long as you enjoyed it all.
And hope Lydia soon back in the swing.
July 24th, 2015
Glad that Lydia is improving.
Lovely shot :)
July 24th, 2015
@willowdragon Thanks Al......we are relieved & her friend has had to venture out on her own!
July 24th, 2015
@sarah19 Yes live music is the best but I can't understand why people keep walking about the whole time ....I must be too old!
July 24th, 2015
Fantastic capture. Love the lighting.
July 25th, 2015
You have captured the atmosphere well here. glad you enjoyed the concert. Poor Lydia, such a terrible start to her holiday.
July 25th, 2015
A brilliant image. Poor Lydia - a tough time for her.
July 25th, 2015
Bet it was a brilliant show! You'll have me singing 'America' now ...
July 25th, 2015
Fantastic capture Pat and sounds like a great concert. I don't understand ticket prices. The same thing happens on planes and trains. Nothing worse than sitting next to someone who has paid considerably less than you.
poor Lydia nothing worse than being ill away from home and when you're meant to be out enjoying yourself.
July 25th, 2015
