Just finished changing five beds, plus cleaning,hanging out washing etc.
My little helper has gone to watch Stock car racing with our SIL so I have been on my own. Quite happy with that, I have taken my time with frequent stops but all done now.
Just posting this photo from the party we went to across the road....I was absent from commenting last night but will look at your photos & comment tonight.
Going to have a read of the papers & put my feet up for a bit now.
Three good things :
1. A small leg of lamb in the oven.
2. A cup of tea!
3. Sunshine on the washing at last.
I love their gorgeous sunroom and patio...a lovely and inviting space. And how beautiful at night with the warm golden light. You've had a busy day today, Pat! You're putting a lot of us to shame. I've been sitting around most of the day watching golf.
@peggysirk Oh dear I haven't watched any golf this time Peggy! I know who is leading & all that but not physically watched any. This house is very open plan, a great party house, I like it. We were going to buy this house if we had sold the farm as a whole...rather sorry we weren't able to. Very different from mine I know that but you get ready for a bit of minimalism!
@newbank it's country - you've got to watch the wildlife! I had a bit of a window phobia as a teenager but the cat scared me so often by jumping on the windowbox and peering in at night that I got over it!
@newbank I know what you mean Ruth & I think I might feel that in winter but these windows are absolutely massive. There is a tiered garden at the back & then a small field so no way can it be overlooked.
I've temporarily switched over to watch some of the Rogers Cup tennis (Montreal, Canada). Andy Murray is leading Novak Djokovic 4-1 in the first set. I should be out hitting some tennis balls rather than sitting around watching sports all day. ☺
I'm loving the minimalist lifestyle. We did a major downsizing when we moved to Charlotte from Atlanta. Sold, donated, or passed on to family/friends about two-thirds of our worldly goods/stuff. It was difficult at first, but the more I gave away, the freer I felt. Probably ended up getting rid of too much...had to replace a few things. ☺
Looks like a warm and inviting place for a party. Sounds like a busy time with all that washing and changing beds. I was pretty tired after all our visitors last week so went to bed early on Friday and woke up much refreshed on Saturday.
Nice big conservatory here built on to the big brick house. Good thing you have a good back with all that bed making! I have had so many bad backs that I have had to make the bed on my knees!
@maggiemae this is the house maggiemae.......all one side & roof is glass but what you see inside there is kitchen on the right through right hand door & living room all the whole length. You can just see the stairs through the central door, it comes out just opposite the little keyboard near Brambles bed in my extra photo. Yes back Ok but it does get tired...lots of rests today!
@peggysirk It was a great finish wasn't it - he kept us all from our beds! My very wealthy (and I mean VERY) had an amazing country house full of beautiful furniture etc and he sold up and got rid of nearly everything (now has an apartment in Central London and a penthouse on the beach in Cape Town and he said that shedding his possessions was liberating as well. I'm rubbish at throwing things away and only yesterday was tipping out the dustbin (recycling luckily - not to horrible) trying to find a piece of paper with the password for Adam's uni accommodation on it - needless to say I've been moving it around my desk for months!
I @judithg Do tell very wealthy who? Don't lose Adams accommodation list, if it's anything like Lydia she has to pay £100 to secure by the 22nd. No typos I can see & it's the iPad guessing wrong anyway! My friend had a car boot sale yesterday of all her clothes..she raked in £130 so was well worth it. I am tied on a Sunday morning in summer or I would be there too. She's going with Nic nacs & bits of furniture next week...got the bit between her teeth!
Oh how fun this is - I love to spy into houses! There is so much to see in this picture - it's almost like an Advent calendar - something new in each window!
