Another Kirkby Lonsdale photo as I haven't used my camera since that day.
Popped into Blackpool briefly but there was no camera in my bag plus I was in a hurry.
Harry had to go to the hospital for his eye test.
We are being taken out to the Cartford Inn tonight by our long term B&B who is leaving us tomorrow after a year...we will be sad to see him go!
One good thing & two bad things:
1. I have managed to buy our holiday insurance for £114 instead of £954. Holiday insurance is a big concern when you get over a certain age & even though we are fit all the insurance companies think different. As we go to family we only want cancellation & baggage cover. Going for longer than three weeks also becomes a problem too so that was a massive difference in price. The internet price comparison sites are excellent! Saga was the expensive one, a company I normally use but not this time!
2. I took the suit back to M&S but forgot to take Harry's debit card with me so had to bring it back again!
3. I was incensed in HSBC bank when I went to pay our water compensation cheque into our account. There I was with the unwieldy suit in my hands trying to fill the envelope, key in the number & pay it into our account ....the whole time three staff were leaning on the desks having a real good gossip. Why have we to do all the work?
This is a lovely composition and the red geraniums against the grey stone really pop - Fav I know what you mean by the fact that you don't seem to get service anywhere anymore. Bank staff used to be held in high esteem - not so these days. They seem to have anyone working for them although I have to say the girls in my Halifax Bank in Biggleswade are always very nice and helpful
@rosiekind I would like to change to the Halifax as they have a real good deal going for the next few days...£150 to transfer but no Halifax near me so wouldn't gain a thing!
Love this picture Pat. Sorry about the suit. So annoying when you've carted it all the way there and still have to bring it back. Don't start me on shop assistants and bank staff who are so rude. I must say my bank is great. They are polite, helpful and respectful but I appreciate we are lucky.
@thistle We have no HSBC bank now in Garstang so had to track all the way into Blackpool & then have to do all the work,..it beggars belief! Trouble is if you change banks how can we be sure they aren't going to close too! Our locL bank was fabulous too but all gone & now an opticians!
Nice shot Pat. Love the little horse. Pleased you sorted the travel insurance sounds like a good deal. Wow a year your b&b been with you. You must of looked after him too well.
@happypat If ours closed it would either be left empty or become a charity shop Mind you there can't be many charities that don't already have a shop here!! Oh! it could also be another coffee shop.
A lovely cheerful image with the pop of red with the geraniums on the window ledge -- they do look healthy , and work well against the grey stone wall . I love the little rocking horse in the doorway A very attractive addition ! Enjoy your evening out -- a chance to relax !!
These pots look so good on the wide windowsill that not everyone has! Better than a window box really! Does your holiday insurance cover health? Or is that separate? You would have to get on very well with your B&B person to stay for a whole year! It would be like having a boarder!
@maggiemae Well he goes home at weekends maggiemae....can't be doing with them staying over the weekend! Different lot in at weekends! I have two more longer term ones in the week too! Yes health covered, cancellation & baggage that's all we want!
red geraniums always look so lovely in a window box especially against the stone buildings. I love the little rocking horse would love to browse inside
Lovely shot :)
Nice photo by the way. Great composition.
