Stony walk by happypat

Stony walk

A lovely pastoral sort of path with the stony ground & sheep.
The wall on the right was very impressive, made of square blocks of stone by hand. Must have taken years & cost a fortune in time. Enclosing the reservoirs owned by United Utilities so there would be no expense spared!!
Cathy was telling me this morning that the recent problem with our water stemmed from this reservoir.

Three good things :
1. The sore back I had yesterday is much better after my quiet day yesterday.
2. Chicken casserole in the oven....love winter food even though it's warmish today!
3. Done lots of catching up jobs today even though I felt more like spending time outside.
Nice

A lovely country lane , love the solid built wall encrusted with lichen , and the sheep on the path !

So there would be gates to close along this path which would also take a vehicle! Amazing fence but so natural!

Amazing wall...I'm guessing good neighbors have been made as well

@maggiemae Well no there wasn't actually , it just carried on across fields, past a farm, through a wood & down a very steep bank to the path below. There were cattle grids so the sheep couldn't get out.
