Lancashire hill farm by happypat

Lancashire hill farm

A typical hil farm in the shadow of Pendle.
Lots of sheep farms in this area, all pretty similar with farm houses constructed of stone & the fields bounded by dry stone walls.
This was a particularly tidy one just needed some smoke curling out of the chimney for perfection.

I didn't take my camera with me today as it was pouring down when I set off but by the time I got home the sky was clear & moonlit...could be frost tonight!

Three good things:
1. A delivery of stuff I ordered for Christmas arrived.
2. Friends coming for the weekend tonight.
3. Loving The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah a book recommended by @eyesmile

Might be difficult commenting over the next few days but I will do my best. Not very polite to spend time looking at a computer when you have visitors!
So clean and tidy -- a place for everything , and everything in it's place !! Super stone walls !

@beryl Thanks Beryl, love these stone walls myself, I don't even see a TV aerial on this house & it's well out of the village!

Aaah but I bet that their garage isn't as tidy as Harry's! Beautifully composed shot Pat. I thought it might be yours when I first saw it.

@jantan No I bet you're right Jan......there might be mess behind those doors!

This is a gorgeous English scene - that same stone used for all the buildings and with the stone wall in front, it makes a super picture! I would have backed that tractor out and hid it though! You could hide in the toilet and look at 365?

@maggiemae Great idea maggiemae...thought you might have a solution! Am looking now as everyone flaked out in front of the tv.

OMG, this reminds me of my husband's aunty's farm in Wales. This one is much more tidy than Aunty Nellie's was.

Ah it's a beauty - the sort of thing that Adam used to spend hours playing with - except that the sheep aren't all in a row in size order!

I love this. It immediately reminded me of a toy farm that a friend had when I was a child.
