Another diary shot today. We have been to our friends Golden Wedding anniversary do. Twenty three of us for a lovely sit down meal at the Royal Oak in Garstang.
For a chap who had to be persuaded Mel enjoyed it very much!
Mel used to play in the Silver Keynotes one of the very popular live bands that toured the local village halls during the sixties. Young Farmers dances every week which were packed out, all the girls at one end & the boys at the other!
We could see them setting off from the other side towards us & wonder who they were aiming for! No bars of drink served but so much fun, big skirts with net underskirts!
Proper dancing in those days too!
I am slow at commenting just at the moment as my comments on your sites are taking ages to download for some reason, hopefully will improve later!
Three good things:
1. Happy marriages
2. Haven't got to cook tonight!
3. A new book.
Odd things happening with 365 - no e-mail notifications for a while. Looks like a lovely do with all the generations represented. Those dances sound a bit nerve wracking!
Sounds like a wonderful celebration!! Love your memories of the dances!! I had the same problems with 365 yesterday - my comments wouldn't upload but if I exited from the page and the message was posted. No 365 emails either. Seems ok today.
The email was a problem yesterday with me too - ok now! I remember all those boys setting off across the hall - and I also remember being the one nobody asked! Help holp! I didn't have pimples! Lovely cheery room here with the windows showing how cold it was outside!
I remember those days too Pat. The lighting looks lovely in this shot. We are having extremely go slow problems with our internet too. Maybe its worn out after the Christmas/New Year rush!
It's definitely better tonight. I had the same problem as lots of you last night. I gave up in the end as it was taking too long to get anything posted. Love this image.
That's a lovely shot. You do have a special style of your own Pat! I just knew this was your picture before your name appeared. I love it! And the boys at one end and girls at the other struck a chord ....It happened into the seventies too in some circles. 😊
Love your 3 good things.
This looks like fun and I like your description of the 60's dances too. Let me know how good your new book is. I've started reading The Dressmaker - it's a slow start. It hasn't been on at our local cinema yet but we went to see Bridge of Spies which we both enjoyed.
Torrential here and roads flooded and our stream overflowed but no problem as it's so tiny and far down the slope of the garden.
a nice record shot of the day :)
Love your 3 good things.
