Snow babe by happypat

Snow babe

It's snowing!

Lydia put on her coat & hat & ventured out into the snow.
Funny how we all get excited at the first hint of a snowflake!

Three good things:
1. A lovely lazy afternoon watching TV by the fire.
2. My throat seems better today at last.
3. The snow looks so pretty.
nice to wrap up and get out

Nice portrait, a keeper i'd say.

Please keep that snow up north, we don't want it down in the Cotswolds. Your Snow Babe has a lovely coat and bobble hat.

your throat! I have such a sore throat now yuk! really lovely shot
January 16th, 2016
Lydia doesn't have a sore throat any longer and here, looks healthy and happy! Interesting to know that the snow has arrived in England after all that rain! I heard there is a town in Wales that has had rain for 81 days!

@maggiemae She has a really sore throat when the painkillers wear off Maggimae ....keeping cheerful though. Only a light covering of snow here but in the Lake District were Cathy was for the weekend it's bad. We heard tonight she had fallen over & broken her wrist! Got to be reset in the morning at Lancaster Infirmary.

@pinkpaintpot It seems to be a nasty bug going round Libda. Cough, sore throat & headache. Hope yours clears up!

What a beautiful portrait. One to keep for ever I'd say. Sorry to hear that you have been feeling unwell, my son has had something similar, it seems to have lasted for weeks.

Lovely focus and portrait for winter!
January 16th, 2016
Lovely photo. Hope Lydia is feeling much better. Your sore throat has lasted a long time too. I guess it must be the same bug going around the world. We came back from NZ with terrible sore throats and it took ages to clear.

@onewing same here Babs, I've had mine for well over a week now but it does seem to be easier tonight.
January 16th, 2016
@happypat I tried gargling with aspro clear first to sort my throat out, then I tried swallowing a spoonful of honey, then I tried a glass of warm water with honey and lemon in it, then I tried a glass of warm water with honey, lemon and whisky. That did the trick, ha ha.
January 16th, 2016
@onewing I used honey & lemon throat sweets when it was really sore or I had a tickle but last night resorted to god old Vicks even though my chest was ok. Much better this morning so not sure if it was a coincidence. Mind you it got better before then came back.

this is fantastic Pat, a wonderful shot of your Lydia and a keeper for the family album. Everything works well here. The side profile , the hat , the snow the light . Faved

Pretty profile portrait!
January 17th, 2016
that's awful about Cathie! Hope she hasn't got osteoporosis as a lot of older people have -including me!
January 17th, 2016
This is fabulous...great contrast between the sharp and beautiful colors of Lydia against the beautiful mostly. Onochrome and blurry background complete with leading line
January 17th, 2016
This is so lovely. The comp, clarity, color and beauty is a FAV
January 17th, 2016
Great portrait Pat. Sorry to hear about Cathy hope it isn't a bad break. No snow here just rain! Pleased your feeling better at last
January 17th, 2016
The snow does look pretty. I see you weren't totally lazy as you got up from the fire and took this photo.
January 17th, 2016
love how you have captured Lydia against the snowy background
January 17th, 2016
@maggiemae They were in the Lakes with friends for the weekend celebrating a 50th birthday. The snow is thick in the Lake District but they decided to have a walk & she slipped put her arm out as you do & there you go. Haven't talked to her yet but it was painful last night. Better when she gets it set properly this morning.
January 17th, 2016
@thistle Thanks Joyce I hope so too! Haven't spoken to her yet.
January 17th, 2016
