Shaggy dogs, boots & hair! by happypat

Shaggy dogs, boots & hair!

Another run of the mill photo of my day. A hairdo that has to last me seven weeks although they do have hairdressers in NZ! I vow to look after my hair better while I am away this time. I normally just wash it & let it dry normally in the sun so I come back looking like a shaggy frizzy dog! I am going to use conditioner & dry it properly with my hairdryer so it has a bit of style!

Three good things:

1. Good fun in the hairdressers today with lots of laughing & chat.
2. A beautiful February day.
3. Out for a family meal tonight with the grandchildren back from uni for the weekend.
Yes we have very good hairdressers and some just cuts you csn walk on off the street. But we do like to stick towhat we know ddon't we. I decided after being away this past week to no skimp on product to take away for both hair and skin. Be sure to use plenty of sunblock our sun is harsh at the moment.

Short is good! I blast mine with the hairdryer and leave it at that.

@susiemc I think the hot sun does it no good at all Sue. My hair is no trouble at home but on holiday I can look a fright!

I agree with Sue @susiemc short hair is so much easier to handle -- I also blast it with the hair dryer and leave it at that and to look "au natural " I have known to use a shine spray which mists it with a oily nourishment when on hols ,esp at the seaside and hot (as hot as it gets in the UK )

@beryl That sounds good Beryl....sun does dry it up so much. I am a blow drier too normally but have never blow dried it in NZ but that means it goes more wild the longer it grows.

I love this shot! Sounds and looks like a delightful day at the hair salon. And I know you will look gorgeous while you are having a wonderful time in NZ, Pat!! We are our own worst critics. :)

I always look like I have someone else hair when I am at the hairdressers. They can cut loads off but when she blow dries it I look like I have more hair. It's only when I wash and blow it dry myself that I realise I have been scalped!! Yes the sun can bleach and dry your hair but there are products that protect it. Worth a try!!

It takes a while to adjust to a different look in hair styles! You may get to like it and others might tell you they like it too! A blow dry does help to lift the hair and provide more volume! You have to blow the air under the hair to do this at the same time lifting the layers with a round brush. I see you in the mirror!

Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful visit to NZ. Love the shot with those pretty teacups.

@pamknowler My hair is looking lovely & thick but you're right Pam as soon as I wash it myself it flops & looks so short!

@maggiemae Very true Maggiemae & I can normally do it ok myself but oh for the days when I just never bothered much & it looked fine!

I made my cut last 7 weeks when I went to the UK but it was a bit shaggy by the time I got home.

Nice shot and I love the teacups, they are gorgeous.

We have been in Newcastle all day today and I remembered to put sunblock on my face. Last time we were there for the day I forgot, it was 35 degrees and I came home looking very red in the face.
