Harry & I set off at 8.30am to get my thumb checked out in A&E. Waited an hour before I saw the triage nurse but after another two hour wait discovered there was a seven hour wait! I went home! It was so hot in the waiting room & there were some far worse than me. I must say the last time I was in A&E when I broke my ankle we were in & out in two hours.
How can there be a 420 minute wait at 9am?
I managed to get an appointment with my own doctor who has strapped my hand up. The triage nurse thought it muscular confirmed by my doctor. I have to ice it & keep it up!
Thank you all very much for all your lovely kind words from yet another moan from me! I am not normally prone to such injuries!
Had a lovely lunch out with a friend even if she had to cut my food up!
Three good things:
1. I am getting too organised for the hospital & found myself cutting my finger nails on the left hand this morning just in case I had to have a plaster on.
2. Such heavy rain this morning no watering tonight! There was even hail, amazing when it's so warm!
3. Our new BT box has arrived ready for our exit from Sky at the end of the month.
I should think you deserved lunch out after that ordeal. I'm glad the GP sorted it out for you.
Your local looks very homely - and I love the art work on the walls.
Yes I felt I deserved lunch out but also felt very lucky to be able to walk out of A&E this morning with not much to worry about! Counting my blessings & hand sore bug more comfortable tonight thank you.
Ooh ! Pat -- what a day you've had ! -- let's hope the strapping will do the trick ! Nice to have a meal out with a friend though -- helps to ease the tension of the morning . Hope the pain will ease !
@maggiemae Yes I am so appreciative of all the lovely comments about my injuries Maggie! My thumb feels better tonight, I have had an ice pack on it & im so relieved not to have it in plaster!
Oh dear, what a dreadful place to wait on a very hot day. I hope the ice did the trick? I'm sure the lunch out helped too. We have had a very hot day in Belgium too - too hot to do anything much!
@busylady We aren't used to this heat Judith are we....glad you're having good weather on your hols though! There was a poor woman in A&E who had fallen she had a great massive bruise on her forehead, she had her eyes shut as she wAited, hope they took her in quickly!
Perhaps you should have broken your ankle again and you would have been quicker, with a mention of your other injury. Love the cow in your local, the cow picture is great as well, sorry I'm being naughty.

Looks like a good spot to have lunch.
