You can't see it but the River Wyre runs along the back of that pale field. Sometimes in winter as its tidal we can see it lapping right to the top but it's never come over yet! Touch wood!
Three good things:
1. Watching a great tennis match this afternoon in the Davis Cup.
2. No flies In my house today!
3. The second part of Joanna Lumleys great programme on Japan tonight.
A gorgeous land scape . What a beautiful view you have from your house Pat ,and Harry making a neat job out of mowing -I love to see straight parallel lines in the mowed grass , and doesn't the grass grow at a tremendous speed at the moment .!!
And yes I am looking forward to watching Joanna Lumley in Japan tonight !-- I think she is wonderful !
@beryl She has such a lovel way with her, so respectful to her hosts & of course as Jack is in Japan at the moment extra interesting for us! Yes we are very lucky & Harry just mows this field now, Henry's old stamping ground.
A great view and he's doing a good job! Looks like a nice day there, it's been horrible and grey and dull here after a 3 hour thunderstorm last night!!
Happy Harry then! Lovely view Pat. I know how you feel about the river. We always worried that by building flood defences further upstream we will get more water down here.
@thistle Yes a worry for anyone living near rivers these days Joyce but as you can see from the photo taken at the back of our house we are on a hill. If we got flooded here it would mean the whole of the Fylde be flooded right up to the top of Blackpool Tower!
Great to see that lovely peaceful view again and to heat a few thoughts from home. A better night's sleep last night, not on the train or getting up at dawn!
