A visit from Kirsty & some of her lovely dogs last night.
Some of you will remember Kirsty's visits over the last few years. Normally she has a lot more dogs than this but this was an extra competion so she only brought half a troup.
The little Jack Russel in the front is definitely the favourite & the boss!
The other dogs she has here are some of her fantasticaly well behaved gun dogs. She has a very successful business on the Isle of Bute called Gortons Gundogs.
Always a pleasure to have, those dogs never barked once!
Another visit in early October for the big competition.
Taken after an early morning walk.
Three good things:
1. I washed my bike this afternoon ready for action!!
2. Jack arrived home tonight.
3. Home grown tomatoes from next door.
Fabulous photo - especially like the low POV. How lovely to have well trained gun dogs - Two and a half years on, I'm still resisting buying another Labrador pup.
@jocasta Same here Jocasta, we would love another dog but they are so tying when you go away. Only an old cat left & definitely no more cats! We have been responsible for animals all our lives so it's good to have a break!
Yes.he looks The Boss!..bless him...we never had a dog for years after Mum and Dads farm.....as you say so tying,as well as all the other animals and everything else, then our Matthew had this little collie.but its good because we share the care between us..an xx we love him to bits..
As usual, Kirsty's dogs look happy. There seems to be another dog behind the JR and those two obviously have to be on a lead! Not surprising - they can run like the wind!
@brennieb Sharing is the way, we used to do that when our son was working & living next door but then he upped sticks & moved to NZ so not just as handy to say the least!
@jesperani@kwind@gijsje@loweygrace a well trained dog is a joy to behold! Ours were never trained & although we loved them they just did as they pleased!
beautiful dogs Pat. Does she breed them for sale or just for showing. We have a very intelligent Kepie but it costs us a heap to have her boarded when we go away. She's worth it and we coudnt be without a dog but as you get older you have to think hard about getting another one.
What a great shot - I could never walk that many dogs at once - I would have the leashes tangled around my legs and then down I would go with the dogs pulling me like a dogsled!
