Chewing the cud by happypat

Chewing the cud

A lovely picture from my bike ride yesterday. Looking over towards the fells of Barnacre on this lovely autumn day.

So lovely to see cows still out in the fields in this day of the robot milker & cows inside all year round.

Three good things:
1. I have booked my NZ flights for next year. Slightly worried as the new flight from Dubai to Auckland is 16 hours in one go! No choice unless I wanted to stop a couple or even three times. Get it over with I say!
2. A380 plane so that helps the journey!
3. A lovely walk & chat along the Lancaster canal with my friend who happens to be my daughters mother in law!

Very contented looking cows.. nothing like real grass for the girls.. 16 hours does sound like a long haul.. but best to get it over with.. look forward to a catch up...

A lovely rural scene. It's a long time, but after a couple of movies and a snooze, it'll whizz by!

Looks like good pasture for the cows. It's an epic journey to NZ - but so worth it when you get there, isn't it? Such a wonderful country - and people.

Who'd believe this is October - looks like the cows are enjoying this Indian Summer, too. Gorgeous.

We talk about happy hens - these are happy cows - the milk must be nicer! I don't envy your long flight - take some blood thinners before you go and during. You are definitely keeping it in the family - with friends!

Love the blue skies! I've seen quite a lot of cows in the fields not far away from us ......maybe I should get a bike and go off with my camera .......though the roads around us are very busy and fast moving traffic on not very wide roads!!! Lovely time of year!
And how exciting to book tickets!!! Is Harry going too....or are you going solo?
