This is a typical street behind the promenade at Blackpool. What you can't see is the Irish music playing very loudly. The stall on the right has the same lady sitting in the kiosk in front of racks of different sort of music predominantly Irish. The next kiosk on is Gypsy Petulengo.
The car park is just at the far end of this street so you have to walk past her to get into the town centre, I must admit it gives you a spring in your step!
Thank you for all you comments last night, I don't think I wrote one! We had a very nice evening indeed & Cathy enjoyed her birthday.
Three good things:
1. Lydia is at this moment in St. James Palace in London being presented with her DOE Gold Award. A great challenge for the young people in the world & the Duke of Edinburgh in his nineties still there doing his duty.
2. Harry & I are off to Blackpool when he comes back from doctors, we're going to have fish & chips on the prom before the cold winter weather sets in.
3. Every bit of ironing done this afternoon including 23 pillowcases!
Nice to get out and about while the weather is still quite mild -- hope you two enjoyed your fish and chips -- we had fish and chips for our tea last night !! as I couldn't think of what to have -- the chippie was convenient . Well done Lydia , and to you on getting that ironing done !

Thank you all we are back from our fish & Chios on the prom but didn't quite work out like that! Harry Ramsdkns was full with a twenty minute wait, Prezza was full with another twenty minute wait plus we had eaten Italian last night so didn't want more. In the end we went fir Kentucky Frued Chicken. Don't know whether any of you have tried Kentucky recently , well don't, it was revolting! Too strong coating, we'll be up all night drinking water! It didn't taste a bit like it used to, we weren't the only ones to say that either!
Sorry for mass reply but I must catch up with commenting!
One side of the street is much brighter so the other must be in real shade! Good to see the life going on and a pity we can't hear the music! Shame about the fish and chips but what could you do. We don't eat Kentucky - too calorific but look forward to our fish and chips that I cook in the kitchen every Friday (we are not catholics but love the routine)
@maggiemae Yes Friday is fish day, old habits die hard! Wish we had stayed at home & eaten some left overs we gphad biput hopefully got some good photos from our trip. Couldn't believe how busy Blackpool was on a school night!
I'm glad to see you're still here Pat. I've been away too long. There are some great characters is Blackpool. Ellen goes to collect her gold DofE next month.
@dh Yes I'm still here Delena, can't give up family like me on it too much! Lydia said she enjoyed her afternoon but I haven't heard any details yet as they are still in London. Ellen will enjoy it I'm sure. Seems a long time since Lydia actuall did hers, it's taken two years for school to organise.
Wow for Lydia sounds like a great achievement. Enjoy your face Dins.
