A bit of festive cheer by happypat

A bit of festive cheer

Which didn't seem to work on my B&Bers last night I might add!
I have been doing B&B for over 24 years & in all that time I have never had any complaints, a couple of non paying bolters but never such a miserable pair as these two!
I put them in the largest double with their own bathroom on their own floor. Lovely & warm, big telly etc.
Gave them a lift to the restaurant to save them taxi fare, they complained about the meal from our lovey Farmers Arms, disappointed was the word they used!!
Wanted breakfast at 8.30am, came down before 8am & sat & watched our poor Geoff eat his breakfast while I scurried around with theirs!

Anyway we are coming to the punch line, I took their cheque to the bank as I happened to be in Garstang & the lady behind the counter said '. I've never seen that before!'
They had put an exclamation mark next to the £70!

Say no more!

This is our end of our Lane looking very festive! They haven't got any lights up round the corner at the other end yet!

Three good things:
1. I can have a good rant on here & I know none of you will tell!
2. Been to Worsley to pick up Christmas presents sent from NZ with my DIL mum who has just returned.
3. I enjoyed the journey in a comfortable car with heated seats & the first Christmas music playing! I do like driving!
Ooh !! Pat -- you could have done without these rude and ungrateful grumps destroying the atmosphere of Christmas -- they should have stayed at home and grumped at one another !! Bah humbugs !!! Never mind you still could find 3 good things -- nice having Christmas Music in the car and your A bit of Christmas cheer , is beautiful !

@beryl I know it's unprofessional to complain Beryl but me & the bank lady had to laugh! She even let him pick what she had fir breakfast & they ate the same last night too! That sort of a marriage I think! Retired folk come up for a wine & food convention.

Well they do sound like a couple of miseries. How could they not get in the spirit of Christmas with this scene to greet them.

Let's hope lots of wine at the convention will cheer them up! A shame they didn't enjoy you wonderful hospitality. Your image is lovely.

Miserable gits! ....... you can't please some people.
Lovely photo ...... I love your end of the lane!!! very pretty :)

Pat! All I can say is 'are they ever happy?' Your B&B is still the best and we've been at quite a number since that very first stay with you at your other farm!! And loved every one since.....it's been far too long since I was down your way!!!!
Just keep smiling and think of all the lovely ones you've had and who you are still in touch with !!!! xxxxxxx

I think they are a miserable and cowardly couple - didn't say anything face to face. I can just imagine what a happy life they have looking for something to complain about all the time! Here in NZ you would pay at least $170 (86 pounds) for this sort of luxury! "What goes round, comes round' I always say!

@newbank @julzmaioro @dide @willowdragon @sarah19 @maggiemae @gijsje @brennieb

Ah you are all so kind with your encouraging comments, bless you all!
I have put it behind me now & am finding it funny when I think about it! I could write a book but up til now all happy stories of friends & fun so that's what I shall concentrate on. Xxxxxxxxx

@sarah19 good to hear your first hand reports Sallie! You are a great ambassador!

@maggiemae Yes a great saying which is so true!

Oh Pat what a story. I think they need a smack. The good news is that you don't have to live with them. Must be real miserable sods in their every day life too.

I know someone here who complains about everything too. I gave her a postcard once that read "I complained because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet", but she didn't get it. I think that if she ever won on the lottery she would complain if she had to go to Sydney to pick up the cheque. You can't change who people are can you, only how you react to them.

Looks really warm and festive and I can't believe they were such asses. I'd love to come to your B and B and know it would be wonderful

You always have one or two that like to complain about everything and anything. I like the presentation and use of lighting

I do hope they see your Facebook post and the comments. Perhaps we should all share the post and hope it reaches them!!

@thistle They will not be on FB Joyce....guaranteed!

Such a warm and welcoming holiday scene in your lovely neighborhood. I am so sorry your guests were such a completely disagreeable twosome, Pat. Miserable people miss so much good in life. Their loss.
December 7th, 2016
Pretty scene
December 7th, 2016
bet you hope they never come back. Some people seem to just moan about everything.
December 7th, 2016
I'm so, so sorry Pat. I really share your pain. Try and put this miserable ungrateful pair to the very back of your mind and concentrate your thoughts on all those wonderful appreciative guests you've had over the years. I hope their cheque doesn't bounce.
December 7th, 2016
@susiemc He he Sue I hope not either. Don't think so as they didn't look short of a bob or two. More likely they would cancel cheque but don't really think they would be that mean! I'm not worried about that really just think they were making a statement. Thanks Sue, you if anybody would know his I felt! My guestsare always without fail lovely people some more lovely than others but none would be disgruntled like that.
