A good day today, everything went according to plan all day.
This is part of the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Built in 1878 it has been the home for thousands of famous celebrities appearing in shows over the years. The summer season in Blackpool & other seaside towns was immensely popular in my youth. To see a show in Blackpool was a major event.
They are spending millions on this venue over the next few years apparently.
The owners claim that every British Prime minister since WW11 has delivered a speech in this building.
There was a hair demonstration on the left hand side so quite a few young people having their hair done, I think they were students
I popped in to book a table for six for tomorrow night. I had already left a message on the answer phone with our requirements & they actually rang up home while I was on my way, Harry answered the phone & unusually must have taken in my instructions in case any one rang & booked us a table.
I was on the phone quite a long time this morning trying to source a dress in the correct size for Cathy. Managed to get pretty much the last one in that size in the whole country from the Leeds store.
Three good things:
1. John Lewis, their staff are wonderful!
2. A listening man!
3. Our favourite tea tonight.
That type of architecture has fortunately been repeated around the world and is always a drawcard for visitors. Like the wee dancer there! Favourite meal - sausages and chips?
