Sorry any artistic photos from me seem to have gone out the window lately. I have no time nor inclination to go out with my camera these days & capture something beautiful. I did try in the old days & I used to think in my spare time where I could go to get a photo worthy of this great site!
Today you have me desperately trying to dry this mattress topper. The weather has been just awful here, heavy rain & very windy so it's been a nightmare with the washing. Of course it's been a very busy weekend & I have a drier which I have used but this was just too big to go in.
Three good things:
1. The topper is dry at last!
2. News from our daughter on her cycling holiday.
3. I got a free shopping trolley at Aldi today. I found one in the rival Booths trolley bay so I pushed it through what we call traitors gate, used it & got a pound back when I returned it!
@julzmaioro You put a pound coin in tomrekrase the trolley then when you bring it back you connect the chain & your pound pops out! Not that many supermarkets have these paying ones now I have to say, Booths, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's I think are all free now. The pound coin is to make you bring them back!
Very nice too - don't spend it all at once! And why shouldn't you post just exactly what you were doing today? I took lots of pics of the Grandchildren today- it's our day to babysit, but haven't posted any - yet. Still catching up with last week.
Ooh Pat what a day for a big wash ! Squally and blustery rain-showers here too ! You are so fortunate of your aga on a day like today . Hope all will be cleared before an evening in your chairs !!
@gijsje I would like to think so Bep but don't count your chickens! We are going to a pen agricultural show on Thursday so that will fill up my repertoire!
I wonder about having to wash a mattress cover -hope the reason wasn't what I thought it might be! Glad to hear its dry. You could have turned the electric blanket on the bed and laid it on it? I feel the same way with photos - seem to have tried everything and done that etc! But I still like to think that an opportunity will turn up!
There are times that getting out and shooting something pretty, especially when stressed and with crappy weather, just isn't going to happen! Hope you get some down time soon
@maggiemae No not what could have been, it just needed a wash, I thought it would go in the drier but it wouldn't fit! Never thought of the electric blanket!!
Oh my! My sister-in-law bought a new set of a really big front end loading washer and dryer - just so her comforters would fit! We all have days like this, smile!
Crikey, what a job trying to get everything dry and it isn't even winter yet. I remember trying to get my washing dry in winter by putting it all over the radiators, central heating boiler and everywhere possible. Don't miss that at all.
@onewing no you miss nothing about drying clothes, I hate stuff on the radiator & always hang out if I can. I do use the drier but mostly to fluff towels! I do pretty well considering all the bedding I do, haven't resorted to professional laundry company yet!
Looks a big job Pat, glad you got it dry in the end. It's totally fine to have periods where we just coast along on here, I do it often (resorting to posting restricted quite often as my photos are so boring and unimaginative). I like the cosy fand homely feel to your photo and those chairs look very comfy!
