When I went to the Macmillan coffee morning on Friday morning at our old house Gill very kindly showed me all round from top of the house to the bottom!
Quite a weird feeling & I was expecting the house to look smaller but was amazed how large the two front bedrooms were, I had forgotten after nineteen years since we moved.
Three good things:
1. Memories, some good, some bad!
2. Good to see old neighbours!
3. Cathy & I went to see flooring & blinds, so much choice!
@newbank No not really but a mix of generations...farming is sometimes a complex matter, well it not so much nowadays but it was quite usual for different generations to live together farming, didn't all work out. Several friends of mine in the farming circle were in the same position, wouldn't happen these days!
A lovely big house -- it must bring back a paramount of memories . and especially when you have not been there since you sold up ! I haven't been up home to mid Wales since I was struck down with the polymyalgia and the Osteoarthritis is worse and although I think I could go up to my cousin now on a good day -- I feel apprehensive to see my family home again which is next house to my cousin's house !!So many emotions and feelings !
What a lovely looking house ... My two sisters that have just returned from the UK went a checked out the house where my Grandparent lived just prior to leaving for NZ 103 years ago .. and the present owner was in the garden and he showed them around ... it was very emotional for them ...It was in Shropshire
@beryl Well I have been before but never been all round inside although Anthony went down the farm Lane in the summer for a look & he was also shown round, I was envious but now I too have seen it. It does feel odd going back in time. Would it upset you perhaps going back to happy times?
A beautiful farmhouse. going back never seems to work though, it just isn't there when you arrive if you know what I mean. We went back to Amberley which was the house where I lived in Yorkshire when I was born and it wasn't how I remembered it. Best just to keep the past as memories for me. You can always check the houses out on Google Maps though these days, although having said that a lot of our houses are married quarters and because they are on RAF camps some tend to be blurred out depending on the sensitivity of the site.
So lovely to see. Your family had been there for several generations I think. We remember it well but all because of your wonderful home making.i think there were lovely climb in roses? Laura was remembering how you took all the B team round to see the milking process and the guinea fowl when she was here a couple of weeks ago. And we had a lovely quiet cup of tea outdoors.
But now we picture you where you are and the hospitable warmth is second to none. And so lovely to still be in touch with you and Harry and getting news of your family. 😊😊
A beautiful house, Pat. Looks like it's being well cared for. Reading your comments I'm thinking you are very happy with life in your wonderful current home. Life is good.
@sarah19 v. Thanks Sallie, funny to think you know this house quite well, I remember you two arriving with all four children quite small all wearing pink t -shirts! So glad you decided to stay at my B&B! Would have missed so much including 365!
