Espalier apples by happypat

Espalier apples

Loved the way they had these apples along the old stone wall.

When we moved here to this farm we brought some of these coping stones with us & they are all the way along the top of our newish wall here.

Three good things:
1. Favourite night on TV.
2. BBC IPlayer for catching up with Doctor Foster!
3. Sweet potato chips.
I adore this, Pat! And your apples look delicious!!

wonderful crop of apples. Don't know what a coping stone is but will find out. Hope the blackbirds don't get into those apples!

@peggysirk @beryl aren't they beautifully grown, so attractive looking but unfirnutaky not ours Peggy, grown at our old house by the people who bought from us eighteen years ago. I brought a couple home & not as nice as they look, quite sour & woody!

You got me confused Pat -- I thought it was your present wall and apples -- I was wondering how you ( or I decided Harry ) coped with stringing the apples in the espalier way -- such a fussy way to get a few apples especially it you have plenty of space for a proper old fashioned tree .! Although I like to see them in other people's garden wall !!

Such a tidy way to grow apples if you are short on space. Heaps of fruit.
