'Turned out nice again'

A weird day weatherwise.
Started off very gloomy with hardly any light then mid morning appeared a very odd red sun. It was caused apparently by the Hurricane Ophelia bringing smoke & dust from the Portuguese fires & the Sahara desert.
This afternoon it's sunny, windy, bright & very warm.
Perfect weather for hens!

Three good things:
1. We had a visitor while I was ironing yesterday so was distracted & brought the iron down on the back of my hand...good thing is with prompt action my hand hasn't blistered.
2. My new travel bag us being used for the first time. Looks like it will hold lots!
3. Painted over the little chips of paint on the back door.
Even your hens are talking about the strange sky and red sun !! I hope it hasn't disturbed their egg laying !! lol. --- Lovely rural scene Pat -- getting nearer to your hols with the new case ready to be packed !!

Fabulous photo and interesting weather report. I didn't know you had hurricanes in your region. I thought it was an U.S. Atlantic Coast thing.

@beryl been a weird day but it's very windy here tonight Beryl, glad to be tucked up at home tonight! I don't like being away from home in bad weather, too fond of my own kitchen!

@quietpurplehaze the hens were enjoying the sun, you can see all that maize ready for cutting but still too wet to take the tractors in.

That would have given you such a fright! Poor hand! Hope you had the right burn cream ready! That sun must have been weird to see and you would be grateful for the information as to why!

The hens look very happy in the sunshine. Hope they didn't get blown away with the wind from Ophelia.

Love the hens and found the weather report very interesting. Sounds like Melbourne weather. We say Melbourne can have four seasons in one day.
