Camusdarach Beach by happypat

Camusdarach Beach

This famous beach took a bit to find. We turned round twice as I missed the car park which was tucked away off the road.
Walked across a little footbridge, along a narrow path over the sand dunes then you turn a corner & this wonderful beach is there in front of you.
Pale golden sand, a view of the islands of Eigg, Rum & Sky & the smell of the sea!
Today the army were training, two hovercraft, four gunboat type vessels & around 20 soldiers.
Funnily enough while waiting for the Jacobite train to go past in Fort William we saw about five army vehicles & trailers go past, now we know where they were going!

This beach is famous as a setting for the film Local Hero.
Love your interesting notes and with such a nice image I can really share your experience.

Love it, nothing better than a deserted beach. Glad it was difficult to find because you wouldn't want it full of tourists would you.

The Scottish beaches are beautiful - pity that its not hot enough for a sunbathe and a swim!
