Rain, rain & more rain!
Harry & I went to Longridge this morning, swooshing through all the floods.
No main line trains going north from London to Glasgow & no traffic on the A6 through Galgate to Lancaster.
Luckily the river bank held its banks at St. Michaels this time.
Three good things:
1. Emergency services pumping out again.
2. I cleaned the deepfreeze out & got rid of two large bags of ice cubes left over from the summer. I bought far too many bags for our party. Gone next door to the Fizz & Flute van.
3. Really enjoying A Column of Fire the third in the Kingsbrudge series by Ken Follet. Such a cruel period of history, the torture was horrendous! Hanging was the kindest way!!
Oh dear that terrible .. hope you don't have a horrible wet wi yet t
Like we've just had... it gets you down.. good to here the flood banks held.. let's hope you get some sunshine soon.. 🌞
That looks scary, but great picture. We get a ton of rain, like 100 inches a year, so the ground here absorbs it like a sponge. Not too much flooding but when it happens it happens on a large scale
You would have to wear gum boots (wellingtons) all the time! How depressing to have so much rain! You are brave reading a book like that! One that I would avoid!
Sorry I have had to resort to a joint reply. I have been online fir ages trying to buy concert tickets in the pre sale so had to stay on the right page in a queue! We live on a hill, so the rain never bothers us except the misery of watching it fall but so sorry for people with houses & businesses flooded.
Amazing shot. My husband has read the first 2 in the Follett series. I loved Pillars of the Earth but never found the time to read the second. I think I will get him the final one for Christmas.
@allie912 It more a stand alone book than the other two although stil based in Kingsbridge two centuries later. Queen Elizabeth 1 etc. You do learn lots of history!
