New Preston Market by happypat

New Preston Market

I drove into Preston today to take back jeans Harry had bought but didn't like.
I walked up to the newly designed market.
Must say I was impressed except it was cold! The old indoor market was much warmer so the market traders won't be happy.
The old indoor market is going to be developed into a fifty million pound restaurant & cinema complex.
The market traders have moved into the newly developed Victorian canopy open market. It's been enclosed in glass & looks rather nice.
The wind chill on faces today was extreme I thought but it's set to get worse later in the week.

Three good things:
1. I found a hat in the boot of my car, it was so needed today in town!
2. A visit to M&S food hall, always a pleasure!!
3. I bought a new shirt from French Connection.
Great lines and reflections and everyone looks very well wrapped up!

It looks rather clean airy and grand , but as you say , cold with no cosiness ( great for the summer !!! ) Every one wrapped up - glad you found a hat in the boot -- needed today !

Have you seen the movie 'Finding your Feet'... GB and I saw it last night and it is really good .. you and your movie buddy will love it.. a bit sad in places and funny in others ... and one of the main characters has the same nick name as my Sister and for the same reason .. so that was a extra twist for us...

@lyndamcg I was impressed with it, they have converted that old canopy into a thing of style without losing its authenticity.

@beryl I hardly ever go into Preston these days but I was determined to go & check it out. Some stalls still empty as it only opened on the 12th Feb but I think it's a great asset to the town.

Good shot of the glass market it looks very modern. I was listening to the weather forecast today, @jesperani and this cold weather is apparently staying with us till mid March, something to do with the jet stream.

Nice capture of the market!

This is a big building! Preston must be much bigger than I thought! Where do all these millions come from?
February 27th, 2018
This does look so big. My goodness when it’s full of vendors you will have a time shopping at all of them.

Wow...a snoopers cold paradise

@maggiemae Preston is a city Maggie, population November 2017 was 141, 800 so massive in terms of NZ! I very rarely go there these days but I like a browse now & then.

@louannwarren I doubt I will ever go in there again Lou Ann. Wrong end of town for me & I rarely go into Preston, three times a year at the most I would think.
