Churchtown in between St Michael's & Garstang unfortunately has no village shop now.
Some of the more enterprising villagers have opened a voluntary staffed shop here in the church hall.
I've seen the signs as I drive past on the main road so on the way home I diverted to check it out.
Quite out of the way right at the back of the church yard but I liked the cheerful flags.
I didn't go in as I thought I couldn't come out without buying anything. I had hardly any money on me as I was just dropping Harry off to pick up his car but I will go in one day soon
I admire these entrepreneurs!
Three good things:
1. Had a good sweep up all round the patio & bird table area.
2. A fabulous bouquet of flowers from NZ for Mothers Day.
3. Some awful potholes filled in on the bridge at St Michaels, you couldn't avoid them & thankfully they must have repaired them in the middle of the night as it's a very busy road.
Lovely scene with the green grass. We have huge diabolical potholes too.
Our tradition is that Neil cooks the meal on Mother’s Day with a bottle of wine. Hope we may see your flowers....
Sounds like an interesting g place to pop into.. Keep us updated.. I hate pot holes .. with the ' low profile' tyres on our new car sharp edges pot holes give you puncher very easily...
A lovely view of the old grave yard and the church and what a great idea to open a voluntarily manned shop in the Church hall . A sign of a close knit community and well done to them !

I love the old cemetery.
Potholes far too much in evidence around here too!
