After visiting a friend in hospital Harry & I popped into our favourite place for lunch.
A bowl of chips & a shared round of sandwiches went down very well.
I can't believe the weather we are having, I love these constant dry, warm & sunny days, a real proper summer at last!
Three good things:
1. We called at our daughters with some egg s just in time to sign for a parcel she's been waiting for.
2. Waistcoat Wednesday, I'm quite liking the trend for the waistcoat, the shops are full of them!
3. I'm not a football fan but have been drawn into it gradually so am rooting for England tonight but will be quite glad when all this football is over!
Looks like my kind of place to eat Pat - I see you have got a bottle of elderflower - I love that and I also love the ginger and lemongrass cordial I dilute with bottled sparkling water - so refreshing !
Looks lovely! No football lover either but Connor is crazy about the game and knows so many international players.....has cards, will follow so I guess if he's happy then I'm happy!!!!
Looks like a lovely place to eat. Like you I've been drawn into the football and as I write this it's almost half time. This is no good for anyone's blood pressure, including mine.
@quietpurplehaze Waistcoats for all perhaps Hazel, it's only because Gareth Southgate the England manager is a wearer of waistcoats, very nice he looks in them too but everyone is copying him.
These look like good ham sandwiches and the chips, golden crisp and hot! A good salad there too so that's a great meal together with the elderflower - wine or cordial? I bet the English can't believe the weather!
Where is this Pat? Looks lovely. Such a good game last night - a game of two halves! I don't usually get too involved but for England it had to be done! It's just too stressful watching tho, but we don't need to go through any more pressure now!
@lyndamcg This is in Scorton Lynda. Not sure if you have ever been to The Barn at Scorton, it's quite well known so you could have been there. This is a fairly new place further on from there & I like it much better. Well worth a visit. We could have a little meet up if you ever are around that way! Daisy Clough Nurseries...google it. Yes football was a little stressful but we kept switching over to watch tennis. I thought we had cracked it in first half, I think experience won in the end!
I saw a friend's post on Facebook yesterday about waistcoat Wednesday - is it every Wednesday or just that particular one? Love waistcoats! This looks a lovely spot for lunch
May the best team win!
Yes half time & all is well! I have been ironing, switching from tennis to football & then watering some tubs outside.
