You can see the concentration as this farmer leads his beef bull out into the ring for judging!
Garstang Show 2018
I'm shattered tonight, slept badly, four very early breakfasts & a walk round the show ground.
Church tonight & I felt my head jerk awake twice!
I think this hot weather is draining us all!
I didn't win one placement in the photos today, I didn't even bother waiting to pick them up at the end.
I'm not entering next year as I had to take them last night 14 mile round trip & then you feel obliged to go & see how you've done. If I don't enter we can please our selves on the day!
Three good things:
1. Lots of chat & friends met.
2. Met up with Lydia & Mathew for a burger bun. Their first time at the show.
3. Full of admiration for the talented & artistic people who make such wonderful handicrafts of all types. Would be my idea of torture!
It will be a great sleep tonight you will see! One sleepless night is OK as long as it only happens occasionally! Good for you for getting a good Farmer George photo!
@brennieb@maggiemae it's the slow walking round that tires me. Not always many seats to find & im past sitting on the grass. Different at our local show as I'm helping & we can always have a rest in the shade.
I hate competition at every level as there are so many variables and judgements and hurt people.
Isn't that one of the loveliest things about 365....we can enjoy and admire and share and be inspired and make positive comments and people are encouraged and feel they belong. Definitely a better way to be.
A lovely shot of a proud handler and his bull ! Sorry you didn't win anything with your photos - often the results of such a composition lies to the likes of the judge !
This is a wonderful shot! I sure hope the livestock judges were better qualified than the crafts judges were!
Your photos are darn good - and that veggie mouse as well - too good not to place!
You’ve definitely captured the concentration on his face. These shows are great fun but very tiring. We always had B &B guests for the Royal Welsh Show and although I did enjoy going to the show in the end I decided I couldn’t cope with both so I concentrated on the guests. I recently went to the Three Counties Show in Malvern without having any guests to worry about and it was wonderful 🙂.
