Gone for lunch

We visited Muckross House today, just outside Killarney the house has a very interesting history.
Queen Victoria visited there with Prince Albert three months before he died.
They were getting ready for the visit for six years ahead, painting refurbishing etc all just for those two nights the royal party were staying over!

We had a coffee in the lovely gardens & I noticed the gardener had gone for his lunch.
Well it looks like they were doing a spot of gardening as they heard you were coming..

After 6 years preparation, I’m pleased that Queen Victoria got to visit. Your trip sounds like fun.

Six years to prepare! Most people don’t make their plans quite so far ahead!

Crikey what an expense for a short visit. I remember Queen Elizabeth visiting Manchester in the 60s she was driving past an area due for demolition so they put plant pots outside the houses, bricked up the windows and painted curtains on them. All because she pased by for a few se onds and then when the visit was over they
demolished the buildings

@onewing Wow Babs, I wouldn't think she could care less either, she's pretty down to earth!

I remember passing by there as we began our hike with lots of people going past in horse drawn buggies from the town! Interesting to see inside.
