We did have a few visits to various pubs while in Ireland. A glass of cider was very acceptable while shopping & the weather was very warm.
Loved all the bottles & the lone guy in the leather jacket just seemed to fit in.
I took this because it had Harry's name up there!
Three good things:
1. I did a spit test yesterday for a DNA sample. My grandson Jack is very interested in tracing our family histories, he became interested on his gap year & read about this test so his four grandparents have all done the spit test. Results in about six weeks. It gives you readings of where your origin comes from. Too late when we are dead!
2. I have my warm joggers & thick socks on this afternoon, it's almost wood burner weather!
3. 365ers who make me laugh! @maggiemae for one!
I think I have to add a 4th GT today....
It's a great relief to be able to have a grumble & grouse about things knowing well that the only people reading them will be my lovely 365 friends!
A gorgeous warm Irish welcome - like stepping back in time , full of atmosphere with all those bottles and paraphernalia on the top shelf . He sits in his surroundings so well ! You have excelled here Pat and a huge fav for me !
Fantastic image such warm tones . But I do feel a bit of sadness for the old bloke .. and wonder what his story is.. but I bet you ladies cheered him up..
@julzmaioro He never turned his head Julz, just sat there the whole time we were in. You do see quite a few old blokes in pubs during the day in Ireland. The barman did talk to him but I never saw his face.
Sorry for bunching you all together but I wanted to say the same to all of you & to thank you very much for all the brilliant comments & also I'm so greatful for all the faves...glad you all like it as much as me!
I must say the Irish pubs were a world of their own! I would never think of just going into a pub in the Uk specially not during the daytime!! Shock horror! That is what made it so interesting I suppose!
Bars nowadays seem to put lights and mirrors behind the bottles which makes it very exotic. We went into one like this in Dublin that had rugby icons and photos all over it! fav
ps. thanks for the comment!
I know we all feel we are in a supportive and safe place here on 365 - and I think we are - but this is an international website and anyone can view photos freely. They would have to find us individually of course but I now have a card which I give to my strangers so they can see their portraits. The words '365 Project' and 'Hazel' on the card will take anyone straight to me................and I guess similar wording would take anyone straight to anyone.
@quietpurplehaze Yes I do have a few people not on 365 looking at my photos so I am careful always what I say, you never know but I am hoping a random B&B won't look! 😱 It's a great release of frustration sometimes but you have to be very careful! Thanks Hazel.
No trouble, you are
always entertaining! I can imagine you & John having a great evening in one if these places. I think it might have been a bit merrier at night!
You know, this photo tells many a tale. I love everything about it, not the least of which is his posture/body language. Marvelous capture, Pat, just marvelous.
@louannwarren Wow thank you Lou Ann for such a positive reaction. I'm immensely grateful for the faves here, I love it too, you know I'm a street photographer at heart, just I I'm not often in a street to indulge but Dublin was a real treat!
This will look great in mono too
this week i have been saying .. this time last week...
