That time of the year again! by happypat

That time of the year again!

Damson gin making day! I have made two litres of it!

I have quite a few damsons left for pies, I have put then in the freezer.

Three good things:
1. For such a yummy drink damson gin is so easy to make!
2. Biscuit tin full again.
3. Grand designs starts again tonight!
What a lovely sight!

Great capture. I love damson gin and when the gin’s all finished the gin soaked damsons are wonderful on good quality vanilla ice cream 😁😁

Apparently a damson is a plum, Pat. Called that in the UK. We have tons of plums in the season!

@maggiemae A damson is a plum.....makes sense! A sloe is a damson to me too so not a lot of difference in any of them!

@happypat Prunus spinosa, called blackthorn or sloe, is a species of flowering plant in the rose family Rosaceae. It is native to Europe, western Asia, and locally in northwest Africa. It is also locally naturalised in New Zealand, .... now what I have found! I thought sloes were only in the northern hemisphere.. May be I have to go on a sloe boat to China?
