On my way to put our repeat prescriptions in at the doctors I passed this shrub with masses of berries.
There do seem to be loads of berries this winter....I hope it doesn’t forecast a hard winter.
A very important evening tonight as this arguing government vote on Brexit. Everybody is sick & tired of hearing about it, wish they would just get on with it but I fear it will all end in more chaos. Why would we bother to vote ever again?
Three good things:
1. I remembered there was left over rice pudding in the fridge.
2. I have not eaten any chocolate for three days!
3. My Christmas hyacinths are out....such a lovely perfume.
Food for the birds as it now gets colder , Pat ! Our little country is in such a mess , and like everyone I am sick and tired of hearing and getting more confused daily of Brexit promises , deals etc - I could carry on , but decorum prevails !!
Oh Pat I haven't had rice pudding for ages - its not the same made in an electric cooker ! - I can just see its creamy texture and lovely golden skin !
@beryl This rice pudding was exceptionally nice though I say it myself Beryl. The last couple I’ve made have not come up to scratch either too dense or too runny but this one was spot on, I really tried as was taking it to daughters, I had some left over cream from Christmas too. I love i5 with skin on! I could say loads about the B word etc but better not!🤭🤭
Always a very heady perfume from Hyacinths.. We are hearing a bit about Brexit as well so know wonder you are sick of it .. and the end of the day the Polticians will do what they please...
Great crop of berries on here .. is it a Contoniaster?
A lovely picture of these berries. Love your three good things!
I watched BBC tonight and learnt that Theresa May's Brexit deal was not accepted; she has to deal with a no-confidence vote tomorrow.
@gijsje Yes but she will win that Bep, her conservatives will not vote against her as there will be a general election & they be frightened of losing their seats! DUP said they will support her so where do we go from there? Fed up with the lot if them!
@maggiemae no idea if certIn berries are poisonous maggie, perhaps these orange ones are! It’s scary when Parliament want to take over & ignore the government! Who is in charge?
@julzmaioro That’s exactly the problem Julz, we voted for them but they aren’t doing what we voted for, fighting & falling out among themselves.....I am thinking I might bpnever vote again! Whether you agree with it or not the country voted! I don’t believe it will ever happen now. Yes a cotoneaster.
Well - you are all in a pickle, that is for sure! The problem is that there is probably no perfect answer for Brexit. It's like voting for the fire or the frying pan and there is no winning either way.
But - this photo is wonderful and I am looking forward to your shot tomorrow!
Very pretty colour for the time of year. The growing things are a bit confused with the mild weather.
I fell asleep with the radio on early tonight so missed lots of the discussion....if that's what one can call it. What confusion and muddle......who knows what next.
And today will be another interesting day on the 'B' front. Where will it all end, we all wonder. Nice image of your berries - they do say it's the sign of a hard winter, but at least we've got to mid January with very mild temperatures so far.
lots berries. hope not hard winter and spring. not had choc either for a few days. did swimming today,. walk monday... but did sucumb to a few dorittos last night

I think Brexit has been a real 'buggers muddle' as my Grandad would have said.
