Barbra Strieslands song came to mind this morning as I did breakfasts this morning.
We had a guy stay who used to come regularly until a couple of years ago. He puts grooves in concrete so that cows don’t slip, I’m pretty sure I have shown a picture of Reg before. He was telling us all about his son who used to work on the CERN Collider in Geneva, he has now moved to the large Lovell telescope at Jodrell Bank.
Reg travelled up from Somerset to Carlisle, did a day’s work & then travelled back down to us then back up to Carlisle again this morning & staying here to tonight before going home in the morning. He is a man of habit!
My other two regular B&B Martin & Andy heard last night that they had won the contract they have been working on for two years worth $100,000 per annum to their company.....they came into the kitchen to borrow some glasses for a glass of champagne each!
I do love having these interesting people stay....we will miss it so much when we move!
Three good things:
1. I was able to go back to bed after very early breakfasts, I had tummy ache.
2. The horrible Jeremy Kyle Show has been axed, good riddance to this degrading programme!
3. Interesting people,
The fleet! Lovely shot and story. Your b&b lads sound like very happy campers! Can't help but agree with you about the axing of the JK show - I've never watched it, but I do know what type of thing goes on, and I'd say good riddance to bad rubbish too!
@huvesaker@jamibann@susiemc I love the talking with people, you learn so much. It must have taken some getting used to Sue....I daresay I will adapt! @jamibann Yes a horrid programme, we never watched it either though have seen snatches over the years.
I am sure you are going to miss your regular b & b's. You will have made lots of good friendships over the years. Maybe there is a book there when you retire
@gijsje Thanks Bep, love meeting people!
