Harry has been cutting our new lawn today & strimming the edges.
Well in theory it’s not ours yet as the sale has been held up owing to the former owner recently dying.
We rang & asked if we could mow the grass as it was getting a bit jungle like!
It’s very overgrown & we will be filling in these three large beds in the middle & taking the grass right to the edges. There is more behind me buy that’s overgrown with brambles too....lots to do! You can see Harry using the strimmer near the house.
You can see our new place in the background. It will look completely different when we have finished with it!
We had a picnic in the sun!
Three good things:
1. Celebrations in the sun in Manchester City Centre tonight.
2. I ordered a rather interesting book from Amazon, it came today. Called Underland by Robert MacFarlane it’s all about the world below the earth surface. It will take a bit of reading!!
3. Plum tomatoes!
@susiemc He he do you think so Sue....luckily there are lots of overgrown shrubs up each side & all grass in the middle except for existing trees. We are going to get a man in to bottom it & put a shed up for Harry. I will sit up the top with my book! Faces south so lots of sun.
How exciting Pat -- all that grass - you will need a couple of pigmy goats to help Harry ! hee hee !! Joking aside - you have got it right Pat - a good book and sitting near the bungalow facing the sun !
That’s great Harry having a challenge to keep him busy when you downsize, otherwise he’d get too bored. I’ll be interested to know what you think of your new book.

Well we had to have plenty of grass, you know what Harry’s like about his mowing. We have to move somewhere with space around us, not overlooked much though we do have neighbours side of us & also at the front. A short walk to shops in village & near a bus route if needed. It seems a lot to take on at our age but this had to be the one to move to...not the right way round buying first but hopefully ours will sell this year! 🤞🏻
Nice to see your new abode and in the sun it looks cosy and full of promise! I wonder what a man is going to do when he 'bottoms' it! I suppose you have to wait for the estate to be settled.
@jgpittenger Yes we are but like the delay, it’s ours but we haven’t had to pay for it yet!! Ours only been on the market for three weeks so we can’t do anything until that sold....could be a long job! 🤨
Nice! Love it. There are probably some nice plants in the middle of that garden patch. I was able to get an old fashioned rose from an old house place that was being demolished, it smells so sweet. The old plants are so good to have, in my opinion. Just needs some TLC.
