No...please not yet....

As usual our local garden centre is way too early with Christmas!
On the 1st August Christmas cards go out & last week they started putting up the decorations!
Sad really.....they wish the year away...it’s money money money!
The last thing I want to do is think about Christmas just at the moment!

We are going out tonight so I am posting early.
Off out for a meal with friends.

Three good things:
1. I’ve cleaned the house & Harry has mown the lawns...we have three viewings tomorrow so fingers crossed! Unfortunately it’s going to rain again, I wanted to put the outside cushions out & be lolling in the sun when they arrived! Might have to put the log burner on instead!
2. It’s all in the presentation I’m told so we done our best!
3. Lovely flowers cheap from Aldi...beautiful pale pink lilies.
Haha, I understand!!

Enjoy your meal! I totally agree about Christmas coming too soon. It's crazy! Hope those viewings go well!

Ooh Pat first and foremost - good luck with the viewings tomorrow ! Perhaps things will get moving now that the main holiday season is over !! Ooh I agree about the commercial side of Christmas - it seems to be getting earlier each year ! - it spoils it for me ! but obviously good for the retailer's pocket ! It has been a beautiful day here today , washing done and dried ! Enjoy your meal out tonight !

Mine had their Christmas department closed off under construction this week too. Crazy. All the best with the viewings.

They put it out and people buy it. If no one brought the stuff maybe we would not see it out so early. I was upset when I saw Halloween stuff in August. Remember when Christmas stuff came out in late November and the day after Thanksgiving was a day to spend with family and friends. All we can do is not put our stuff up so early.

I hope the viewings go well tomorrow!
Christmas decorations in September? Far too early!

Much too early to think about Christmas

I agree far too early, not even cold yet!

Hopefully someone will fall in love with your house! We noticed Christmas things for sale here too - crazy.

I know everything is lovely and your home shows very well. Hopeful the showings go perfectly. We have Christmas out in every store. I did read an article today that said Psychologists have found that people who decorate for Christmas early are happier. I used to wait till the Friday after Thanksgiving, now I decorate the week before Thanksgiving, so I’m certainly happier! 😊 I think it has to do with getting everything done so I can enjoy the holiday festivities worry free.

I have to agree with you - don't think about Xmas just yet! We are supposed to enjoy every present moment while we can. I'm sure your house will be warm, the flowers to brighten up the room and hallways, the coffee to be on - perhaps bread baking in the aga?

Oh no, September is far too early for Christmas decorations. I can't help feeling that people who start selling Christmas items this early are getting rather desperate for a sale.
Fingers crossed all goes well with the showings.

Happening here too I hear. I've avoided shops in Aberdeen and local shops seem to be ticking along as usual. I wonder if people are actually going to buy all the 'stuff' in these days....so much decluttering and minimalist way of living really doesn't match with all the show in shops.
I love Christmas when it's December though.

@sarah19 same hear Sallie & there are only so many decorations you need, the old ones with memories attached are the best. I love Christmas too but less inclined to go mad with the decoration these days!

I'm with you, Pat. By the time Christmas arrives I feel used and abused by three months of holiday craziness.
