My saviour arrived this morning in the form of Mr Aga man.
We have been without the Aga for almost one miserable week.
It’s been a real trial. Luckily although cold it has not been windy, wind gets everywhere in our old house.
It needed a part as the oil was not the right level so the poor old girl was fuel starved.
She going like a rocket tonight & the old walls are absorbing the lovely heat...us too!
We might have to have him back as the oil pipe has some dirty oil running through it but fir now it’s doing OK.
We really missed the all day heat & although we weren’t planning on having another Aga in our new place when it’s done up...can we live without one?
Three good things:
1. We put up our new artificial tree yesterday. It’s a pre lit one & does look beautiful. We have always had real trees up until now but think it’s time for easy!
2. Pine smelling candles!
3. Our new telephone arrived today, it’s on charge now. We had BT out as we had no dialling tone. Turned out our phone was broken...they might charge us for the call out!
The house would be so cold without this Aga! In your new house, make sure you somehow insulate walls, ceiling and floors and you will find it won't get cold and you can heat it with very little energy!
Nice to see a man on his knees ! hope he has been able to fix it for you - its not the time of year to have your main source of heat and cooking failing you !
@beryl Ha ha Beryl, funny but you’re right! Wasn’t the best time for it to misbehave but it’s not been working right for going on two years. We have had three people out but in the end my old reliable chap who installed it originally but retired from agas came back & saved the day!
Great picture and I can appreciate the feeling of warmth after being without your friend....aga is so much more than a cooker!!!
We don't have one....but a good friend just loved hers so much.
Enjoy the cosiness.
