Had to go back into Blackpool today to return the shoes Harry bought on Friday!!
Decided he didn't like them as much as he thought & had ones that would fit the job anyway so out I went in the pouring rain to return them.
I had some odds & ends to get at Boots & I looked in Waterstones for books for the boys.
Pizza Express was doing a child’s birthday party...cute little kids enjoying rolling out pizzas & messing about with flour.
Three good things:
1. My normal car park place was inaccessible because of road works so I went in the brand new massive Sainsbury’s...free parking for three hours!
2. Had my hearing aids sorted....
3. A good warm waterproof coat....it’s just terrible weather!
Ooh , such a delightful capture of these little ones having fun preparing their pizzas and no doubt playing in the dough and flour ! This weather is absolutely dreadful isn't it - so glad we never get flooding near our property - it must be a devastating tragedy having all that water and debris in your home !
@beryl Thanks Beryl, I loved seeing their little faces all excited. The couple that was buying our place last summer & had to pull out eventually bought a place but it was flooded with a flash flood at the weekend...such bad luck....having to rent somewhere for six months while they put it right. Our place is on a hill too....what a worry being in a flood area....I think they need to start dredging again....
@quietpurplehaze I know Hazel...ten years what did I do with my life before? It’s chore sometimes but I would miss the people if I came off it! I shall be having a break in March when we are away.
Great candid ! I read in the newspaper that the UK are consulting Dutch engineers to solve the problem...from the article I understand that one of the differences between our two countries is that we have provinciale boards to manage the water. They have a lot of clout, sizable funding and elections every few years. With our country more than 50% below the sea, I guess we had to take water very serious 😉
Beautiful shot and I like that person watching the children on the job. The children look like they are having a wonderful time. My daughter organised something like this once for Max and I was there to take pictures.
@momamo Yes I read that too Monique, they hopefully will learn lots from your country...it can’t just be climate change...do you dredge rivers & dykes? We used to but no dredging done now, apparently it makes things worse....water runs faster etc....can’t see that myself!
