A place in the sun.... by happypat

A place in the sun....

This is the second butterfly I have found this winter. I moved this one into a sunny window near the other one. I thought they might find each other & bond!
Wasn’t sure whether to bring them inside or not but in the end have left them in the south facing shed.

Three good things:
1. Viewers again this morning.... they seemed to like it but they all look like they do....difference today is that they have sold theirs. Only an older couple so I think this will be too big but we live in hopes! Another couple tomorrow!
2. I am basking in a tidy clean house....no sitting down thinking I should be tidying up, I’m already tidy!
3. Storm Jorge is here this weekend...a strong wind & heavy showers...it never ends! We are warm inside though.
Lovely autumn colourings in this butterfly! Someone might be able to identify it!.Good to have done all the work to tidy up and make the place comfortable! Good luck - seems to be a good time - we have sold our motorhome after about 4 months and friends have sold their boat - after about 2 years!

@maggiemae Oh we would love to be under offer before we go to NZ but I think that’s asking too much but you never know....sometimes things take a while to sell....you only need one!

@louannwarren I’m not sure of the life cycle of a butterfly Lou Ann must google. These two are very listless but alive.

Your house sounds so spic and span, so hopefully the right person will view and buy! A pretty butterfly.

Butterflies generally hibernate in Winter. Having said that I think that if the weather is comparatively mild, they may perhaps make an appearance. That said, touching them or trying to move them is likely to cause them...and you distress. I suspect that as the weather is comparatively mild, they may well 'awaken'...engage in some mild activity or not...and resume their hibernation.
