A sort of wasted day....I can’t seem to settle to anything at the moment so I did nothing!
We had our next door neighbour round at a suitable distance outside plus two of Harrys bowling friends who live just down the road called with his birthday card & a packet of chocolate biscuits.
In the middle of the afternoon the clouds lifted & we could tell it was the start of the few very hot days that are forecast this week.
Three good things:
1. I have started reading A Booksellers Diary by Shaun Bythell. He owns the largest bookshop selling second hand books In the country. He lives in Wigtown in Scotland. I think we will go for the weekend once we get settled, I would love to spend a couple of hours in there.
2. I managed to get hold of some Bicarbonate of Soda.
3. Not a cloud in the sky tonight as we sit in the sun after our evening meal.
Well I think thst sounds like a good day.. relaxed with a book.. your chooks milling around.. friends popping in.. and comfy on your Allbirds.. enjoy.. 🐔👟👨👧👦
@julzmaioro Well spotted Julz! Yes my Allbirds but looking decidedly battered. There is a hole coming in the left toe & the soles are so smooth they are a danger to life & limb when it’s a wet floor!
@dide I wish Dianne, was just saying to Harry I could do to go with someone who would be happy to spend a couple of hours there but I couldn’t actually think of anyone except perhaps my son in law.
A lot of my days seem to be a nothing sort of a day and I am getting used to them and not feeling guilty as I used to ! This heat is sapping me of all energy ,Are the chickens yours or are they your usual visitors - something so homely in seeing them toddling around and at times under your feet !
@beryl The usual suspects...the opposite neighbours. The light one is called Ginger but the dark ones name has slipped my mind. They almost live at our house but lay their eggs at their house!!
The day being hot must be nicer than greasy and dull as you once described it. Not any place to swim either - unless you sat in a stream? Hope the hens don't mess up that clean concrete!
@maggiemae Well they do a bit maggie but we don’t mind, it’s only now & again & we love them coming round. No place to swim...not allowed but we could drive seven miles to the sea if so inclined!
Sounds like a perfect relaxing day to me! I am looking forward to having one as it gets hotter every day! Not good for lugging books downstairs and heavy china! There’s always another day when it’s cooler! Must check out those shoes as they sound comfy which is just what I need!
We all need a nothing day from time to time. I am having one today. I am so tired at the moment. Maybe things will improve when I have upped my B12 and Iron injections next week.
A nothing sort of day sounds fine! I will try that when school term is over at the end of next week!!
And chocolate biscuits and a Birthday card sounds very good.
Hope Harry had a good day! 😊😊
You look very relaxed there. Lovely capture. I think Covid has made us all a bit lazy with the amount of time we have at home. I can't convince myself to do any hard work now. At least yesterday I washed the car - from the outside only.
I've discovered the name of flowers that were the subject of a recent post that you asked about. They are Eurphorbe Hypericifolia. Mine are still going strong. The flowers are tiny...and splendid en masse. They remind me of snowdrops as the petals are tinged with green. Many photos available to give you a better notion ;-)
