This is Jacks new car...he is delighted with it & it suits him perfectly. An Eco engine with no tax & loads of miles to the gallon.
It’s great for him to have his own wheels & not rely on borrowing dad or mums. They are not in a bus route so a car is essential.
Three good things:
1. He brought fish & chips....left the windows open to get rid of the fishy smell.
2. We now have two other offers on our house...a queue is good!
3. Talking to Alex & then Ant in NZ this morning!
Very smart.. hope he like washing cars.. as black does show the dirt.. we had a black one a said we will never do that again.. though our metal track didn't help..
Good news to have a queue..
A lovely car for Jack, it makes for a more independent life - - I hope he has many miles of happy motoring ! Black looks very smart when clean , I vowed not to have another black car ! for this reason !
It would probably be an 'e-car'? Quiet and efficient. Good that he left the windows open. Whenever I cook fish and chips, I have to have the windows open for ages. Your house offers are a good back-up. Though you did say your present sale is confirmed. You will be happy!
@loweygrace I think you never forget that feeling of freedom do you...Jack isn’t a natural driver & sometimes would park up in the village hall car park then take the bus but he’s more used to it now.
@beryl He’s loving the freedom Beryl. It’s a while since he drive on the UK roads, he briefly had a car while in Japan but discarded it in favour of a bike but he’s about two miles from a bus route so he needs one now.
Super. Great car for Jack. I just fell heir to my dad's wee VW UP - as he's decided he doesn't want to drive any more. Good decision, I think, I did worry a lot about him driving even though he didn't drive very far. Not a car I would have bought for myself, BUT it's great for what I need. £20 a year road tax!
@jamibann I’m going to change mine too in the near future & am certainly looking at a smaller nippier car. Harry got a courtesy car a year or two ago & they gave him one like yours, he loved it & he’s used to a Landrover Discovery so a massive difference.
@callymazoo Yes we were so glad for Jack....It’s hard settling in again after being out if the country fir three years so now he can get out & meet up with friends again...incidentally Jack is our grandson....Harry is a young looking Grandad even at 83!
Now the problems start for his parents. Every time he is a bit late home they will start worrying about him. Our youngsters want their new car as soon as they come of age and distances here are short but they have become lazy to walk or go by bus wherever they want to go.
@sangwann So true...the older they get the more you worry...even into their forties & fifties! Oh for the childhood days! You know they are in the right place at night in bed....ha ha their own bed too!
Good news to have a queue..
